Japanese is an incredibly hard language to learn to read (though not to speak)...there are 3 different alphabets (kanji, katakana, and hiragana) and the grammer is completely different from english (they speak in pasive tone)...so good luck, though truthfully, you probably won't be able to completely read japanese manga for years

Without actually living there, I can't imaging being able to memorize all the symbols. On that scale, you can't try to do it, you just need to pick them up over time.

If you want to really learn to read Japanese, get lots and lots of books. Reading and speaking. My friend got a ton of books, and after a month or two, he could read the stuff on this one japanese game I was playing. He's really good at picking things up though so yeah. Just read your brains out, that is the best way. If you want I can ask him for some tips for you.

Good luck with learning, I do Russian and it's very difficult to learn due to the different idioms to that of English. Just keep trying with it, I'm sure you'll pick it all up eventually with a little patiance.

My friend who learned japanese was koean so he understood the grammar but he says this

"read a lot about the language
    well
i have pimsleur and rosetta stone those are kind of helpful at the beginning and thejapanesepage.com is good for grammar except i already knew the grammar part because korean grammar is exactly the same as japanese grammar so i can't say much about the learning grammar part"

The rosetta and pimsleur are programs that help you learn the language if you want it you can probably torrent it, but yeah that's the advice, read read read, otherwise, goodluck learning

Why there aren't site like Japanese-Online in italian?
Uhm, I attend a japanese course with a native speaker and I like it very much^^ At the beginning it isn't so difficult... because katakana e hiragana haven't so many characters... but then it becames hard 'cause there are a lot of strange and similar kanjis!
For me, it isn't hard to speak, 'cause japanese pronunciation is very similar to the italian one, except for "shi" and "chi".
I don't think the grammar structure is so hard... (maybe 'cause I've studied also latin XD)... yes, it's different from the most of west languages, but if you want also train the memory, is perfect :p

I've seen someone study russian? I would like too! *__*
