It's been about 2 days since it ended. If you didn't know, basically, there was a former Police official that was let off the force for extortion cases against him. Reaction? He goes off taking a tourbus filled with Hong Kong and Chinese foreigners alike hostage, with an M16 assault rifle. The hostage scenario goes on for 11 hours, and sadly, the PNP (national police of the philippines) fail miserably to handle it via peaceful negotiations, and fail later on to successfully subdue the one-man hostage crew from killing 8+ Hong Kong foreigners. It was really disgraceful to see those policeman handle the job so immaturely, and if you watched the vids, many were huddled, taking cover from the bus, behind each other. So much for bravery. Hong Kong has issued a strong ban from travelling to the Philippines.
I heard about the news, I'm Chinese my own and people in hong kong was very upset about this, people say it was the police there they killed and shot the people, the person whos doing this hostage wasn't even thinking of having this gun fight, he led some kids and seniors out before this happened. Well, after this happened, my mom said 'we will never go to Philippines for travel now, put that into the blacklist'
No one liked it, from seeing is more like police killing the hostages and stuff Think about it, you were going on a vacation, to have fun, enjoy and relax, but when you come home 3 members of your family are dead and only you came back alive.
Im pretty disappointed that it took them that long to take him out. Although i am not suprised, its not like they have special training for this kind of stuff. They rarely encounter problems like this.
That's really upsetting. I hate reading about stuff like this because it just gets me down. Makes me want to become successful so I can try and help improve the situation though. Meh, these people go on vacation to visit a foreign country and die. It's just something that shouldn't happen. It also really makes me not want to visit any of these places.
I'm a Filipino myself, and I know how the people in Hong Kong feels. :/ I mean.. look. People came to the Philippines for vacation to have FUN. Instead of having fun, they die. <___< It's really weird though. They even put a flag of our country on the person who killed the Chinese people(Mendoza)'s coffin. I believe flags are only put usually on people who show heroism. It was totally a waste, lool. All the rewards that the traitor, Mendoza had when he was still a police all ended up to a waste. x)
Philippines is going to lose a lot of income if Hong Kong bans people from traveling there. Tons of people travel to Philippines in Hong Kong and they spend tons of money there. Well, philippines deserves it. Who's going to travel there if they are going to end up dying? -shrug-
I'm originally from Hong Kong, and so are some of my friends, so we were deeply upset by this situation. HK issued a warning from traveling to Philippines not because we hate them though, but because they feel that it's hard to guarantee safety. I have nothing against anyone but there are people who are like "oh we hate Philippine people because they let all those HKers die" I watched TONS of documentary {usually shows that last like half an hr} and it saddens me: 1. seeing it all happen 2. realizing WHY it happened... 3. watching their useless police through the whole operation 4. listening to "survivors" talk about watching their loved ones killed and losing so many people {including kids} 5. the police were taking "souvenir" pictures with smiles and stuff the next day, is that disrespectful or what? -_-" {i'll find link to this later} But in the end, what's done is done.
That was terrible = = A lot of people questioned their skills. Even more upset is what they had to say afterward. Stupid excuses saying why it took an hour. Is really disappointing and upset.
I don't wanna instigate more emotions but I felt like this should really be seen. Some assholes took photos of themselves and spread them on social networks like facebook. It was really shameful on their part. No respect for what happened at all. I'm sure Filipinos are enraged at these imbeciles right now for making the country look even worse than it already seems. http://www.chinasmack.com/2010/pictures ... tions.html
