How could I speed up my buy time on au. It's currently about .45 seconds in the attic. Besides deleting unwanted programs, files, documents, etc?
Well it could just be your Internet, or neopets lag. Usually the time varies from 0.2-0.4 seconds. Just make sure AU is in sync so that it refreshes correctly I'd recommend stopping the program and starting it periodically.
LOL do you get any items at all? I miss most of the items at 0.2-0.4, so much competition as well now
you're lucky. My buy times are 0.8 - 0.9s I get about 200k - 300k from 5 items. (Always miss the more expensive stuffs)
I think its just the internet, some countries you have to pay premium price to get alot of mbps so you can make the nps
I also really want to know how to improve my buy times! All my times are 1+. The odd time I will get 0.9## but thats only one in...3?
I get my internet free at the moment.. And they don't offer much faster were I live. I'm supposed to be getting like 10x faster but due to my location, and bad signal/interference, I get slow speeds. Too far away from the closest exchange... But yes.. I do manage with my speeds
I should explain a little bit more about buy speed... Every users want a faster buy speed. But you will need to understand that buy speed is not really related to your internet connection speed or the specs of your computer. When a program makes a request to get a web page, this request will need to take a specific route to reach his destination. Usually, it's something along these line: - Your pc - your internet provider - 4-5 relay servers - TnT's server You can easily see this if you do a "tracert" in a command windows. Use the code below if you want to try it: Code (Text): tracert www.neopets.com You should get a result like below. I removed the ip adresses and replaced them with * in my example Tracert will try 3 times each connections, thus the 3 columns. I'm on my wireless network right now and quite far from it so that's why you see some miss in the test ("*"). Just for the information, I got those response time even if speedtest.net tells me I'm running at 1.1 mbit/s because of the crappy reception. As you can see, I'm passing throught 9 relay to get to TnT's server. The good point is that all those servers have a great response time. If you're having 2+ second buy times, you will see some servers here not responding as fast as the other on the list. Here's another example of a user on the forum. He's having problem with his buy time (read 2+ seconds) You can clearly see that 3 of the relay are quite slow to react. Unfortunately, this is what is giving you horrible buy time. In my example, if we add all the response time, we get around 300ms for a request. It should be the same time for the server to send the information back so in theory, my buy speed should be around 600ms, and you know what, that's exactly it. In mainshop and in the attic, I'm always between 550-650ms unless there's a major lag. In the example from the other user, we get around 900ms of response time for the request, so in theory 1800ms buy time if everything is fine, witch is pretty much what he was telling me he was getting. The bad news is there's nothing we can do about it. I can't tell for sure how those relay works, but it doesn't seem to change too often so you're probably passing throught the same servers everytimes. If you're experiencing really high buy times (3 sec+), you might even be better using a good proxy. If you're lucky, the proxy will pass through faster servers and will result in a better buy time. Oh, and before you go and tell me your igloo buy time are quite faster than this (100ms and better), I'm pretty sure Expon wasn't calculating it the right way. There's no way it can be that much faster unless he knows a trick I don't. Hope this clear things up a bit. If you have any question, lemme know.
I don't see how this could change anything... but meh: In theory, since a webpage is only ~50K of raw text, taking into account that my wireless signal is totally crappy, I can beat you on every single item since my response time is still better than yours. XD
i thought latency (response time) is more impt than the dl/ul speeds. so the ping is more impt than the dl/ul reading right?
When I o that speedtest thing I get 22.64 || 1.92 || 10 My buy speeds are 400-500ms usually in attic. Does he program u use have a lot to do with your speeds or no? Like i AU faster than most other programs
eh even with au most of the people in the attic still miss alot of the crap and our buy times are like .4 its just roughh i maybe get one a day, last one i got before getting frozen was a pirate negg so it was worth it though ahha
I left the auto buy time on mine, I should probably change it though to refrain from getting rs banned so much.
