It's one thing I've never really gotten into. I understand the basic concept, get weapons / armor equipped and get into a battle. I just don't think it'd all be so simple as selecting two weapons and clicking Fierce Attack, like the Punchbag. Tips?
You should be going onto http://idb.finalhit.org/ to check out weapon and how good are there. Basicallly everything is covered at that site, Attack stances and faerie abilities and stuff like that You should get 2 scarab rings if u are new to the battledome
I know there's guides, I've read them. I've pretty much been told the basics that I know: Get expensive weapons, use two at a time, and freeze when you can. I'm hoping for something a little more personal of advise.
If you want to get serious about BD'ing, start training at the swashbuckling academy. It starts off cheaper. Then move onto mystery island training school. with the mystery island training school, you can train your HP three times more than your level, so make use of that to save neopoints before moving on to the next level threshold. If you want a decent, but unbalanced pet, use the lab ray. Your defence and level will be really low, but you'll have high levels of endurance and strength. If your enemy has a healer (Jade scorchstone, LEV, etc) try to save your freezer until after that person has used it. What particular aspect of BD'ing did you want advice about?
I think the academy should be avoided. I mean, if you have the neopoints, just start training at mystery island because it's so much faster.
basically there are these types of icons. light fire earth water wair dark physical each weapon deals a certain amount of those kinds of icons, some items block them as well. the best thing to do is train strength hp and defence of your pet. if your pet has not nearly as much defence as it does strength then there is absolutely no point in using any items with defence icons. the amount of damage you deal with your icons, or receive from others icons are totally dependant on the strength boost of your pet and your defence boost for defending. just because a defence weapon says it blocks 1 icon of water, and your opponent does 1 icon of water, it does not mean you will receive 0 damage because you blocked his icon. damage icons are used to represent the number of damage they deal at each strength boost. if you're opponent is strength boost 125 and your pet has only 35 defence and you block that 1 water icon he deals. he will still be dealing more than 80% of the damage from that icon since his strength boost is alot greater than your defence. best and cheapest idea would be to train strength/defence with using full blockers or reflector weapons. lemme know if you dont understand anything. i wrote this quick from the top of my brain and didnt have time to reread lol.
