Wow, nice. The sky doesn't look realistic, but I'm not saying that it looks bad. It makes for a nice effect on the overall image. It looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie from the 70's :p

    I agree!
I do need some work with the sky. It looks kinda ugly :p
The sky in the tutorial is much better.

Meh, not bad. That large middle black part looks a bit sketchy. Looks like you just painted black all over it to cover up the transition. =/

Edit: I saw the tutorial... =[ You could have at least used your own stock photos...

Still, it looks too similar to the original in the tutorial. I could never make an almost carbon copy of a tutorial's work and then call it my own. Tutorials are meant to teach you different techniques to put stuff together. So take some aspects of the tutorial and some aspects of another and put it together to make it your own.

Gimme a break Charlie, this was the first thing I ever did in Photoshop.
And plus, it is kind of hard to learn those skills when you aren't even doing the same thing you are being told to do in the tutorial. Look at this from a beginners point of view not someones with tons of experience.

Believe it or not, when I was first starting out I was still the same way as I am now. I didn't look at it from a beginners or a veterans point of view. I looked at it from a general artist's point of view. I didn't mean to sound harsh or hostile at all. I was just giving you some criticism. As an artist you've got to take it and not get defensive about it.

    You're right.
Sorry, I usually come off as defensive. I need to work on that :p

FINISH HIM!.... *Enters Fatality Code* ...... Fatality..... =D

Naw its all good. Here read this...

Normally when a person first gets photoshop (this is including me when I first got it): ZOMG I GOTS FOTOSHOP I WILL MAKE 1337 SIGS AND COOL LANDSCAPE PIKTURS!!!!/!211

Then they go look up tutorials such as "Space Scenes Tutorial" or "Fantasy Landscape Tutorial": ZOMG YESH I FOUND ONE NAO WITH THIS I R MAKE 1337 PIKTURS AND I OWN PPL.

Then they quickly rush through the tutorial so that they can finish and show it off: ZOMG TUTORIAL SO LONG... STEP 3 WTF I DUNNO HOW.. SKIP. AHA DONE HAHAHAHAhahahHAhhaahahahahhahah I R 1337 lolollololololololloololl. NAO I GO SHOW OFF!!111!1121!1!1

Then they go show off: loook I r make cool piktur!

Other people: n000b I've seen the tutorial you used

    Then they're like: *sadface*

I was like this like the first day I got photoshop. However I didn't really turn anywork because I knew copying a tutorial was pretty much a legalized version of plagiarism. So I stopped after I finished it. What I eventually did was continue to use tutorials but I used several tutorials to put together a piece. Then people cant say you used this tutorial to make the whole thing. Part of being an artist is composition where you put your piece together in your head then you actually make it. So know what you want to do look up the appropriate tutorials on how to do several different pieces and put it together in one piece. Try to use different stock photos then the ones in the tutorial. I know its tempting to use the same ones as the tutorial as the author got good results with it but you have to try with different pictures.

    Aha.
    That was funny charlie.

But I was at least nice and told everyone that I used a tutorial, and gave everyone the link XD

    Thanks Charlie :D
