Okay so I have a problem...

I have a HP Pavilion DV5-1010tx - It came pre-installed vista but after me screwing around recently and it requiring an upgrade, I now run Windows 7 Ultimate.

The problem now... My built in TV tuner does not recognise. Says there isn't one connectioned. It's an internal one... Can't seem to find it in the device manager either?

My fingerprint reader/scanner also says its not connected.

I've reinstalled the Digital Persona software and I THOUGHT the drivers for it. But still won't work. As for my tuner... I THOUGHT I got a driver for that too.. but guess not as its not working.

I don't have any drivers that came with my laptop, and the recovery disk was never made as this laptop automatically had a factory restore drive.. Which now appears blank after upgrading.

HOW CAN I GET MY FINGERPRINT READER AND TV TUNER TO WORK!?

If you need more information, let me know.

    Plz help me :(

Try going to the sites of the respective manufacturers of the fingerprint reader and TV Tuner. It should have the latest drivers and software for their parts usually under the Support --> Downloads section.

As for the Recovery drive, I think when you installed Windows 7, it wipes all the drives :(.

Lightning pretty much wrote what I was going to write.

Did you checked the HP website ?

Everything is there. In the "Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices (‏5)", you have the win7 X64 and X86 drivers for the Tuner and Fingerprint reader.

Well, after 10 minutes of reading, I have a bad news Junior.
Your tv tuner is not supported in win7. HP have no drivers past Vista.
    You're not alone :|

I wonder what'll happen if you installed Vista drivers on Win7. Maybe the same if there isn't that much update for a TV tuner.

    ...They probably wouldn't work?

I read somewhere that someone tried installing wrong drivers and stuffed something up (not sure which drivers they were though).

I'll check HP later when im on my computer not mobile and see.

@lightning: the problem is not the driver itself. From what I can read, Windows 7 simply can't see the TV-Tuner (hardware side).

Then there's no way to fix that :(. I thought it was the drivers but apparently Windows 7 doesn't even recognize it. Usually, the pre-installed HP OS has modifications to detect internally built-in shit.

    Ahh, sorry Junior!

So I downloaded BOTH the hybrid tuner driver and the digital tuner driver (said i already had installed this).. And now it recognizes my tuner!!

Problem now.. it doesn't bloody allow me to download TV guide listings.. apparently not available in my area, yet the inlaws live two streets away and theirs works fine.. Stupid >_<

Trying currently to get my analogue TV chanels to work... IF that works, I'll try getting digital ones.
