Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Once you have figured out that Google Chrome has existed for like a year now: Download Google Chrome, you might also want to read this because I don't like how Google Chrome tracks people. [GUIDE] Google Chrome Tracking - SOLUTIONS! Ok, and let me ask you a question? Ever heard of Firefox. It HAS come out with it's new 3.5, and it pwns all other browsers .
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Its an amazing browser the only downside is that its not compatible with ever site. I do notice however they are slowly fixing the compatibility issues. Once that's all done it will be a good contender to firefox
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? my friend told me that google chrome is slightly faster than firefox, but i prefer firefox cause of the add ons...
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Eh, I use Opera, it's practically made for cheating. It also matches pretty much everything Firefox tries to do as well. There are so many things that you'd have to download that just come with Opera to start with. I've never tried Chrome, but FF was okay. I mostly just use IE and Opera at the same time.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Still, the only real contender with Firefox is Opera because Chrome still doesn't have the add-ons part. That's why cheaters like FF the most
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? I have to agree. I'd probably use FF, but i'm too lazy to get all the add ons, haha. I once read a review on all the popular browsers and it pointed out a lot of problems with Chrome due to it being so new, not to mention Google's into a little bit of everything. Opera isn't as big, but the problems I've come across are minimal.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? I've tried to use Opera several times, but I haven't liked it as much as I should ...still, I'm really only sure about one thing right now. All the browsers out still have potential to be a lot better. I won't use IE.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Chrome is an efficient browser, but it's a massive threat to privacy and doesn't support the kind of customisation FF & Opera do. Honestly, if you don't like the idea of someone somewhere knowing exactly what you do and when you do it on the internet, Chrome isn't for you. I'd really recommend people read into this topic a little more (just use Google, lol) before using Chrome just because it's new and pretty.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Lol, you realize that there are a lot of browsers that are based off the Chromium open-source that runs just like Google Chrome without the tracking? That's what I do...I have FF, SRWare Iron, and IE on my comp. Use the first two.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Yes, but none of them were the topic of this thread. Google Chrome was, and I imagine the average Joe isn't aware of how invasive Chrome is, so I posted.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? I swear I posted this guide: computers-and-technology-f9/google-chrome-tracking-solutions-t27032.html It lists all the ways it tracks you...I mean, every website you go on could be logged. Yeah...I always thought the Google CHrome invasiveness WAS known by the average Joe. At least I know it, and I think I'm pretty average (maybe not, but ok)...
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? I used it after my firefox stopped working, but here are some of my pros and cons of Google Chrome. PROS: -Bookmarking is sufficient -Type anything into the address bar, and since it's google chrome, it googles it for you(excluding .coms, orgs, etc, just basic search items) -Easy navigation throughout the browser. CONS: -If you accidentally move a tab, it'll make it a new window, and if you have a slow computer, it makes everything like slow down. -Hard to load or play games within the browser(At least thats how it was for me.) -If you bookmarked something, it wouldnt go straight to a folder, it would go viewable in a list on the top part of the browser(I mean, if you want that, thats fine but otherwise, eh)
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Also, to add to your cons, the downloads and the bookmark manager are all in weird tabs...like really plain, random tabs when you manage bookmarks or downloads.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? You know, after reading through ALL the posts in this topic and not a single one mentions what Chrome was built for, I decided to go ahead and post a link to the Google OS site so that the uneducated individuals that posted in this thread can learn something. http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2009/07/google-chrome-operating-system.html If someone else had read the news the day that this thread was posted, I'm sure the responses would have been a bit different...
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? I've been using Chrome for quite some time now, simply because I think it's the fastest browser outthere - and I don't really like firefox, dont ask me why - I cant put a finger on it, but I find google's browser much faster ^^; I've only tried ie, firefox, safari and chrome :]
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? That still doesn't explain the point of having the tracking and everything...yeah, it's for the Google OS...I already knew that. I don't seem to need it...
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? I hate google crome .. IMO it tries to be like Safari too much, but it's obviously too bad to ever be that. The first (and only time) I used it, back on XP, I was browsing for an hour, then I noticed it had opened like 200 java applets on my task bar. And I was like WTF ARE YOU DOING?? It pales into insignificance whenever firefox is mentioned :/
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? Google Chrome actually had some major good ideas though...like the incognito mode browsing (previously explored by FF though), task manager (that's really cool), etc. It's just it has it's major flaws. I mean, very good + very bad = ok...if it is able to fix its flaws, add some add-ons, improve, it could beat out FF in about 5-10 years (it's not only GC that's upgrading). Oh, and Safari is kinda just really for loading pages and speed. It's nice, but FF still wins the race.
Re: Have you heard of Google Chrome? The speed of it was one of the very good things about it, though. Very fast, but it's like GIMP v Photoshop.. GIMP may eventually win, but right now it just gets paled into insignificance.
