I will be updating this thread each time I come up with a new sig.

    #1[IMG]
This was meant to be transparent but I didn't save it right so it has a white background.

Here is another one I made about gundam

Very nice, but can you tell us what you edited to get to that result?
That way we understand how hard you worked.
Also the font should be able to match up to the image which is not.
Try placeing it elsewhere and adding more emphasis.
I suggest using a warm color for the font to get away from all thcool in the image.
    Hope that helps.

    Pretty nice.
I don't really like how far away the shadow is from the signature.
Maybe make it closer, and try to make it transparent again :p

Im not sure what you mean by what did I edit to get that result.
I make sigs for the fun of it and as for my font I didn't want it to overpower the girl.

I am asking what you did to the original image?
Did you just put it in a rectangle, add filters, this and that, etc?

Like what tools you used to get it. Things like, filters, shading, etc

See that makes it more interesting and more criticism.
Because that background looks very nice with the image.
The background and the foreground work very nicely together.
I thought at first that that was the images original back.
Great job on bringing them together.

lol just a quick question do you know who the is like is she from a game a certain anime? cuz she looks like one of the character from this game i loved but lost called golden sun, the most amazing game ever i loved it but lost it when i went on vacation :(

    ok now criticisms :)
you get awesome points cuz i love cool blues like the colors that you have so you get 10/10 awesome points and also you brought the background and the foreground together flawlessly i thought that was the background of the pic itself but other than that it looks like you just put it in a rectangle added your name and put a drop shadow... imo to me it seems a little bland...

and now for the text XD i think if you made it a kinda blue/green/cyan mix it would look better or if you put a stroke on the outside of it with a blue/green/cyan -ish color and just a small outside stroke of like 3 pixels the text would look sooooooo much better but again that's just me :)

I have no idea who she is but I think she is from some anime.

Also the only reason I put text on my sigs is to keep others from copying them and claiming as their own. If you guys think I should decorate it I will try better in the future.

it's not that i want you to "decorate it" it just looks like it was made very simply which isn't a problem at all it looks great but i just think you could use filters to make it so much better. It is a great sig though i love it XD if you didn't put your text on it i would steal it XD lol jk

Not sure if you knew what exactly to save it as to preserve the transparency, but .PNG has worked wonders for me so far. :)

Anyone with half-decent graphics skills could remove that text flawlessly. Just keep that in mind.

Also, why would you care if other people copy it and claim it as their own? Its your work, and no one can take that from you. By restricting access to it, you discourage modification by others. Although this particular image is just a signature, I would recommend releasing your work under a less restrictive license like the GPL or Creative Commons if you don't feel quite ready to release under the public domain.

Its the main point of making a sig for yourself. Its your signature. Your own style and artwork. You wouldn't just create something and not give yourself credit. For the sig you put your name in it or whatever to let people know that you made it.

I don't understand what your talking about with GPL or Creative Commons o_O

    That's personal opinion ;)
What I'm saying is along these lines: I highly doubt that you drew the character in the image. And I also doubt that you took the time to contact the author and ask for permission to use it. So #1, you can't exactly call it your own artwork. #2, wouldn't it be better to allow others to modify your work and re-distribute it?

Now, my statements aren't really directed toward your sig as much as much as towards your attitude. Oh, and don't take any of my statements personally, I just like liberal licenses :p I can go on and on about them, just ask anyone in the forum :D

There are many different licenses you can distribute your work under. You can copyright it, which prevents others from taking your work, modifying it, and/or re-distributing it. Now that's a pretty restrictive license IMO, wouldn't you agree? GPL and Creative Commons licenses allow others to redistribute the artwork and/or modify it. The one catch is that if you modify it, you must re-distribute the work under the same license of the work you modified (so basically the modified work can't be copyrighted). There's a slightly more restrictive version of CC license that forces the modifier to give credit to the original artist.

Again, this really isn't directed towards your sig since that's a really really small and casual type of artwork. I'm just giving you something to think about ;)

It might have been better with a border but I messed up at a step and couldn't undo it.

The background on the new one is really pixely.
It would be awesome if it were smooth.

If it was transparent it wouldn't be much of a sig. It would just be me editing the girl. I tried to make it look like it popped out but It looks like I didn't quite get that effect.
