Im not even sure if anyone here can help..
OR if ill be in some hot warning water for posting this (being because its not relevant to neofriends)

    ... but

Im using windows vista. My comps brand new and i have NO IDEA what in the world im doing.
Ive also realized i hate vista [...]

    So, my problem..

Somehow.. some way.. Ive made my speakers STOP working. I have 2 different pairs that i know for sure work but they wont work on my comp.
I know their plugged in properly so its go to be something ive deleted or enabled or clicked lol When i try using programs like Windows media player it gives me this mesg.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

    My question:
How on earth can i fix this? Any ideas what ive done? Any ideas on what to do??
I miss my music sooo much

Well if it is something you changed, you can just use a system backup which will return your computer to a previous time, such as two weeks ago and so on, anything you changed will be changed back but it might be something else...

Um probably not, I'm almost 99% sure that it only changes your settings, not your downloaded programs. But it is possible you'll lose that stuff. If I were you I'd go out and buy a portable hard drive, they're fairly cheap if you have the money to spare and it is a great investment, move all the stuff you want to keep for sure to it, then after that use the system restore. That's the only thing I could really think of off the top of my head, it might also be your sound card, which could be defected, or what not. That would have to be replaced...

Well a sound card can easily be damaged, even shorted from speakers, so that may be the problem. I mean when it comes to this there could be a handful of things that could cause the problem, and what not. But just try the most common, settings, first and then go from there. I can help you a long the way with it ;)

System restore won't uninstall your files. I thought it does before but it doesn't... I tried to remove a virus with system restore but it never got rid of it. (when I was 12-13) It will get your sound to work again. I had that error multiples of times.
