    Hoi

    I'm buying a new dirt bike. My old one is giving me the shits. I've spent more fixing it then what i paid for it. So i'm upgrading. I want something that i can belt through the bush and something that i can ride to and from work and crap, so its got to be Australian road legal (which includes headlight, tailight, blinkers and mirrors) and have a bigger engine than 250cc.

    So far, i'm looking at a Suzuki DRZ400

    I actually like the Honda CRF450X. Just because it looks nicer in like red colour :p

    but its an old model eh? like 2007?

    They are nice looking bikes, but one of my mates used to ride them and he said they always have valve problems in the first 1000kms. That's kinda turning me off them

    KTM350 EXC

    Power of a 450, weight/size of a 250.. FANTASTIC BIKES! My mates just bought a 300 exc and a 350 exc.. I want one now :(

    The 350s are pretty cool. They don't quite have the power of the 450s but they aren't far off. The reason why they aren't on the list is because they aren't road legal in Australia so i can't ride it to work and down the street. Plus, they are more of a racing bike, not a bush bashing bike.

    Bullshit.. They ARE road legal. The EXC is road legal. The SFX model is not. I promise you, check the KTM shop and they can offer the road legal version.. The 300cc is fairly fast, but its a 2stroke. So not as convineint. I can't wait till they introduce a automatic 2stroke mixer for bikes. Just means if any injectors go you can seriously screw ya motor up. But it would be sooo much easier.

    They have 350 road legal versions in America but as far as i'm aware they are not available in Australia yet. I looked into getting a 300, I was very tempted to get one but I was going to go with the Husaberg TE300. Then I decided to go with the bigger bore thumpers instead.

    I've been looking into a few things and i'm pretty keen on either a Suzuki DRZ400 or RMX450. The only downside to the bikes is that the DRZ will take longer to set up and get it raceable. Whereas the RMX will take alot more maintenance compared to the DRZ. The Suzukis are sexy...
