"CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! :)" From : http://www.ccleaner.com

No need to say more , this guide wants to help you get started!

    1) Download http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

    2) Install

    3) This is how you use it, there's three uses for it: Cleaner, Registry, Startup

    Cleaner

Just run the cleaner for both windows and applications (PS: if you need your IE/FF history and other cache you should uncheck them in the options.

    Registry
Run this to do a system defrag, basically organizes and deletes small file fragments from daily computing. Making the computer faster.

For this you have to run the scan first, after that fix the issues will be clickable. You can also choose to backup your registry if u like (It's not needed, had no issues myself)

    Startup
This is my favourite of this program, the idea is to reduce the amount of stuff running in the background during startup. Makes your computer faster during a bootup ;)

    Go to Tools then Startup

You will then see the list of stuff that runs when the computer boots up. Most of them are system programs so you shouldn't touch them. only change the user applications. For example , you can see clearly that my itunes helper and java is disabled. Do the same if u want slightly better performance from your computer. To disable something , right click and select disable. You can always reenable later.

I've managed to keep my rig in factory condition with this so i hope it helps you guys :)

There is also a "wipe free space" option with up to 30 passes so if you have been up to no good this will help erase that for good not just the good old easy recoverable "windows recycle bin" empty, And there is an option to add extra folders to empty while its cleaning up so i added the Prefetch folder.

This is a good program and i would recomend it to anyone :)

Though I have Ccleaner, I still like Tune Up Utilities 2009 a little better not free but there is a 30 day free trial and very easy to get working keygens for it :)

Very nicely done though may I add when cleaning registry double check what you are deleting I didn't once and it wiped out something and my laptop didn't turn on what so ever I needed to phone the company to get things fixed (thank goodness for warranty)
