Some members of this forum have been considering inflating snicklebeasts, myself included. Currently they're going for a little under 50k on the shop wiz. I'm no expert, but there's a couple reasons I think this would be a better investment than the ring of sloth stamps.

    1) They have use. Snicklebeasts are an avatar item, which means there will always be demand for them, which means it theoretically shouldn't be as hard to dump a large hoard of snicklebeasts in the future as the likely hard to sell ring of sloth stamps.

    2) They're precedented. As in, we have an item to compare them to - Snowbunnies. Snowbunnies are a retired av item given out by the advent calender, just as snicklebeasts are. They've been inflated to 250kish now. What this means is that snicklebeasts are almost certainly a solid long term investment. How fast they rise up depends on how many have already been hoarded and how patient people are with selling.

There are a couple potential problems too.

    1) Snicklebeasts, unlike the ring of sloth stamps, are not consumable, so they're more difficult to "take out of the market" and lessen supply. We'd be relying on hoarders keeping theirs or people quitting primarily to eliminate supply. On the other hand, the ring of sloth stamps have almost certainly risen due to hoarders as well (People putting them in their stamp albums certainly had a minimal effect). Still, if people don't quit or hoard, it might be hard for snicklebeast prices to rise.

    2) They're recent. They're a Year 6 Advent Calender item, which means that several people might have large hoards sitting in their sdb that they could dump at any time and make prices stagnant. Snowbunnies were a year 4 item, which means they've had more time to rise in price.

My conclusion is this: Snicklebeasts are probably a solid long term investment. I don't know how good it will be short term, but I suspect that dumping 100 ub snicklebeasts will be exponentially easier than dumping 100 ub ring of sloth stamps, especially considering how many people have already hoarded ring of sloth stamps. I also suspect them to potentially rise in price much more than ring of sloth stamps because they're more useful - Many people will pay hundreds of thousands of neopoints for an avatar item, but much fewer people will pay hundreds of thousands for stamps. The best thing about snicklebeasts to me, though, is that we have an item that we can look at already and use as a guide. The success of the snowbunnies is particularly reassuring, and I can't fathom a way that snicklebeasts don't share similiar success eventually.

I've already bought near 300 of these and have spent well over 10 mil. I've tried to buy out the larger hoards, so hopefully now a little bit will go a long way.

I think it sounds pretty solid. I have only bought up about 10, but looking to buy more.

Before you start this you have to make sure of a few things that I learned from Ring of sloth stamp inflating: 1st of all, you need alot of manpower to inflate an item with such a population like snicklebeasts, and you have to make sure that people arent going to back out... Remember, the thing about the ROSS was that they are one use, so many have already been used and the population was decreasing... there are thousands of snicklebeasts on neo and trust me...ther not going anywhere... So make sure that people will stay devoted.. I noticed with the ROSS that as soon as they hit 50k (initially 33k), people began to sell , and threw off the inflation.. I noticed this happening and sold off all of mine at 47k, but They continued to furthur drop back down to <43k, so just watch out, and plan with every1 else b4 u actually buy! I might jump in 2-3m if I see some solid organization.

Which is why I'm not looking at this as much as a get-rich-quick inflation scheme as much as a solid long term investment. The process would simply be expedited if people hoarded them and didn't sell, but selling is pretty much expected whenever a large group of people hoards stuff. How patient people are will determine how quickly they go up, but I don't believe it changes the end result because there is actually some demand for snicklebeasts. (unlike the Ring of Sloth stamps, which I believe carries a much greater risk of deflating)

Yeah, I'm sure there's quite a few out there b/c it's a recent advent calender item. Again I emphasize, long term investment.

i think inflation is against neo rules, so that probably wouldn't be the best way to go about getting more people

    You said that before mate.
    And someone replied saying

"The rules say that inflation is allowed in groups of 2 or more"

Collect like 50 on your main and then get some frozen everyday.

Make a ton of crap accounts and then run those daily doers, then buy as many snickles as you can...then the account gets iced along with the beasts. It'd work since it gives you pure and you can just buy the beasts off of the wiz quickly. If everyone does this with multiple accounts everyday eventually theyll make them ub.

Why in the world would you want to get them frozen? If you're already going to spend the nps on them, you might as well keep then and make a profit later.

True, but you risk a chance of freezing, especially if you have a ton of these things on your account.
