Well, I reset my IP by turning off the router and my IP address changed from like 192.168.1.102 to 192.168.1.106... Is this enuf to throw TNT off my old trail.... I doubt it, but that wud be nice, lol
Sigh... Let me say this one more time: When you turn off your router or use ipconfig to change your IP address, that changes your LOCAL IP address. You have two types of IP addresses, one is local and the other is global (I'm not sure if that's the correct term). Only computers on your network use your local IP address. Your local IP address uniquely identifies each computer ON YOUR NETWORK. However, once you connect to servers on the internet, the servers send information to a GLOBAL IP address, which is essentially the IP address of your router. Then the router forwards the information to the correct computer using the local IP address it assigns to your computer. Your global IP address will not change unless you request it from your ISP (I think).
I thought so, and this has probably been answered, but how do i COMPLETELY change it, if its possible, which it probably isnt without calling the ISPeople
It all depends on your ISP. Most people have a dynamic IP address, meaning that it doesn't always stay the same. You just kinda have to fiddle around with different things and hope that it results in an IP change from your ISP. Here's some info on the topic: http://whatismyipaddress.com/staticpage ... ip-address It appears that turning off your router and stuff MAY result in an IP change. When you are looking for an IP address change, you do NOT look at the IP address "192.168.1.XXX". That is your local IP address. Check here for your global IP: http://whatismyipaddress.com/
In my linksys router: Put 192.168.1.1 into your address bar, use your manufacturer's password to log in - it's usually either blank or admin. This can be changed. From there I go to Status, disconnect from the internet... then reconnect. IP changes a tad. http://img248.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 569hq6.jpg I do not know if that's enough to satisfy an IP ban, however. I guess a bored person can click it enough times to get a very different IP.
if you have a dynamic IP that is fine.. every time you logoff or disconnect your net your IP address change.. but if you have static IP even if you logoff or disconnect you have same IP address
Works also with Firefox, thank you I think I have a dynamic IP... but so I'm not affected by IP bans? :|
LOL No you can do every thing you want, reboot your router, DELETE your cookie and start cheating on Neopets again!
...so to avoid chain freezing the only thing I have to pay attention is to not log in different accounts in the same session of my router?
Pretty much. If a simple reset of your modem, unplug your modem/router for around 40 minutes and refresh your DHCP. I've got like a semi-static IP, and that's what I've got to do.
try not to logging in into different account while your using the same session + CLEAR COOKIES!. .. this will help.
I've heard Neopets tracks accounts with cookies, although I fail to see how that works. Nonetheless, I always delete cookies now. Hope it does something.
