Finally bought into the Apple image :p I'm somwhat up to speed on what the jailbreaking process entails and just wanting to get some tech-savvy people to share their experiences. Any mishaps? or difficulty restoring to the original OS? Also if you reckon jailbreaking is reasonably safe what kind of applications you have and I should try would be much appreciated. I've googled tons but some first-hand info would be much appreciated :)

Jailbreak and get cool apps for free. It's rather easy

Please do not spam - he knows you can get 'cool apps for free', no need to state the obvious. Come on now, your level 3.

    SBSettings is great.

You could cheat and get cracked apps if you use the sources from cydia.hackulo.us

I also have OpenSSH so I can access the iPhone directly.

It's really a no-brainer whether or not to jailbreak your iPod Touch/iPhone, since you can get everything from the original OS plus more, all for free. Companies like Apple like to...Limit their products, which also explains the name of jailbreaking (to emerge from a confined space). Since you've already jailbroken it, I suggest getting a Super NES emulator, they're hella fun ^_^

It depends, do you want your iPhone to outlive the warranty and break and be boring, or do you want it to be ridiculously awesome and void the warranty from the word go?

You can download awesome themes, awesome games, and great apps from jailbreaking. A lot of them are free, but there are a couple you have to make a donation to the creator via paypal to download - like the gameboy app (which is well worth it). And if you don't have access to a credit card, it's a great alternative to downloading apps from the apple store ^_^

Thanks for the tips, I'm probably gonna get the GBA one soon-ish as I just love Advance Wars and Tactics Ogre Knight of lodis, do you have to use SSH or whatever to get the roms on? Also anyone who knows how to make their own winterboard theme want to give some advice in general? I am currently addicted to winterboard so if anyone wants to let me know what cool theme their using I'm all ears. (I'm using Casio and the extra's atm, very sleek)
