Just a question since I recently switched to a Mac in the past year. Are most programs made for cheating only made for PCs?
Unfortunately yes it is quite a bit harder cheating on a Mac than a PC. All "programs" are coded for PC's. I beleive there is something you can download and install which will allow you to run those programs, but since I haven't used mac in years I can't give any more detail on that. However there scripts available that will work on a Mac. Heya's Blaze MSABer (guide to using in my siggy) is one of those that will run/is coded for firefox. It's a GM script, but it works well from what I've used of it. Check out the guide in my siggy to help setting it up/getting it to run. Hopefully someone else uses a mac (I know Billy does!), or uses a pc that may be able to offer more info re running the programs?
Aemira, when you go to the downloads section you'll see that everything is color-coded by programming language it's written in. Java is cross-platform, and I'm sure one of the more experience programmers (Zer0? tharoux? Heya?) can tell you more about the rest of them than I can, but basically that means that they can all be run on Macs. Actually, anything programmed by Heya (all the Blaze stuff) should be compatible for Macs, I'm not sure about the rest but I do distinctly remember asking Heya about programming in the chatbox way back when (I think I was green or pineapple colored at the time =P) and he was telling me about that.
I'm on a Mac and I'd suggest just using a dual-booting program like Parallels or Bootcamp and get Windows on there. That way you will have the same advantage as other PC users
The way we're going we might have more Java Based programs around, which work on macs Thanks to the latest Programmer to come here Josh... Plus Heyas programs (most of them?) are able to be run on macs!! So the answer is still yes, MOST programs are for pc's but not all.
I'm on a Mac. I can't scoresend much. I have the Blaze GM autobuyer, and this GM scoresender that will send game avatar scores. I would say YES, it is harder, but there are programs for us.
Well if you can install Windows on bootcamp that solves your PC compatibility issues If not..then yes, it's hard.
If you have any mac thats like 5 years old or younger you can download Parallels or VMWare and easily run all your programs in the background. Or you could just use bootcamp, but I prefer Parallels because I can still use all my Mac stuff.
I don't know cause I don't have one!   :maha: :yup: No, seriously, I think most of the programs are for Windows, so you might have trouble getting one.
