I see what your saying about having painted pets. So what I did it have my leveled Pet with tons of stats for Battledoming. Then I have my Lab pet that i just use it on. I don't want to lose the Potion I used on my Battledome pet nor want my codestones to go to waste b/c of the lab map lowering them. So it's really up to wanting to have fun with the Lab map and if you want to spend the NP on it.

It depends what goals you have. If you want a strong pet, the lab map is a good way to increase your pets' stats. But it doesn't raise your level and defence as often as it does others, so you might want to train that up a bit.
It might be good to level up your pets' stats equally on the lower levels, but when it gets really expensive, switch to the lab ray.
I do think it is worth it to use it, but if you love your pets as they are now, as expensive as training can get, that might be the way to go.

I don't think that lab map is a good way to train the pet... most of times it increase only movement points, and it can take your pet's level to 1, so you're not able to train your pet :/

Well, I did stop training my pet after using the lab ray. I trained until my pet's endurance, defence and strength were all at 150. Then I started using the lab.
    My pet's stats are now
    Endurance: 275 - increase of 125 health
    Strength: 205 - increase of 51
    Defence: 151 - increase of 1 :(
So that's a total of 177 stats increased. Although you may get the bonus points when training, let's take the total stats down to 150 (that's being generous) that would be a lot of codestones, especially since I was already at level 77! For me, I saved a lot of money.
I have heard of the lab ray decreasing your level to 0, but also that it will only happen to lower levels. I don't remember what the limit was though that made you immune to that effect.

If you want to see the research done by the In-Depth Battlepedia,
    http://idb.finalhit.org/?searchtype=pag ... &type=lab#
It shows the percentages of getting a certain effect, as well as the pros and cons of using the Lab Ray

Yep, if you're going for a good BD pet, the lab ray is definitely something good ot have. If not though, I wouldn't suggest it. No reason other than you might be able to get a rare painted pet.

According to the In-Depth Battlepedia research, you get colour change 13% of the time, making it the second most common occurrence. They did it 2608 times in total.
You do get a lot of colour changes. After being changed into a moehog, my pet's been turned Disco, Christmas, Striped, Red, Mutant and finally Spotted!
The lab ray also has unique colours. You can't get the 'Robot' colour any other way (to my knowledge) and I think the Lab Ray is the only way to get the malevolent sentient poogle plushie colour too.
But you might be zapping a while before you get those.

But if you want to train your stats evenly, it might be better to train your pet at the mystery island training school or the krawk island academy. Because let's say, my endurance was 400 and my defense was 30, i would have to train my level to 200 before i could train my defense.

In the long run, the Lab Ray is going to be cheaper. When you get to the stage where you have to pay 3,4 or 5 codestones for just one point of strength or something, that can get really expensive. Compare it to the stat raising with the Lab Ray, which may decrease yours stats, but increases them in the long run. You can even get +5 to your endurance in one go!

its worth it in the long run, but i wouldnt use it if my pet had under 150 stats. It unbalances your stats and removes a lot of defence and levels. Really worth it if you have over 300 stats

it depends on what you want yes.

I think it is worth it if you can be bothered earning all the np. But if your on a site like this i definately wouldnt as your likely to get frozen and lose it all very soon :D

It's worth it for sure !! but if you want a well balanced pet, be prepared to Kquest and stone train as well. the lab will steal levels and defence more often than give so it can be frustrating, I always train and lab at the same time. I stone train level and def and take what ever else the lab gives me. Purdy pets are a bonus too :p

Oh and don't worry about reseting to level one, yes it can happen, but only at very low levels. If you've trained at all you should be OK
