Is there a way to make Vista less.. annoying..?

    My new computer has Vista .. and it's annoying the crap out of me.




    1. How do I get rid of the screen that asks me for a log-on password? Can I even do that?
    2. Is it a good idea to get rid of that thing that says 'Do you want to open this?' every time I try and run something?

    Uninstall it and install Windows XP.

    No, but really, I'm fairly certain they have programs/mods that get rid of a lot of the annoying features that Vista contains. Just google up something like "Vista mods".

    Searching mods comes up with changing the GUI, and adding themes, etc .. do you know of any specific programs that annihilate the annoying features?
