Is this actually illegal or not?

    I got a phone from HK;
    But the network settings won't work. {Meaning I don't have the MMS server/WAP server entered correctly for my provider in Canada}
    And i've been trying to find the settings for Rorger's network but not much luck, but the proxies and settings are on a Roger's phone by default.
    Is it even possible to find those settings and manually enter it for my unlocked phone?
    I'm kinda irritated. It doesn't bother me too too much but providers don't seem too willing to give out the info apparently.
    I've been googling around for awhile, entered several things but surprise surprise, won't connect.

    Do they not allow you to manually enter their server info/proxy for a phone that's not from their company?

    Wouldnt say it was illegal. Pretty sure once you find the right info and stuff it will work.

    The only reason i could see it being illegal was if it gave you free access to something you would normally have to pay for... Does it do that?

    you are free to unlock any phone you want, if that is what you are asking. most companies will give you the code, otherwise you are free to hack the code if you wish (Iphone anyone?) if you're trying to hack into the network to get free cell service, thats very illegal

    Pretty sure that's not illegal it's basically unlocking a phone. As far as setting it up is it a world phone? I know a few friends who have had foreign phones who say that allot of the time unless it's a world phone you might not be able to connect with your SP.

    Yeaha mine is a 3G phone and everything, and it makes sense, they gave me the proxies, I just don't know how to set it up I guess?
    And I do have paid internet access on my monthly plan, it's unlimited but it's a waste now. It came with my value package so I can't just get rid of it.

    Have you asked them? Try calling or visiting a Rorger store.
