If you've ever questioned society, civilization, and our lives, this book is for you. If you've ever wondered if something's wrong with how we live, this book is for you. If you want to broaden your perspectives on life, this book is for you. I was just talking with Dominique (Soleil56) on msn about it, and I figured I'd recommend it to you all for the holiday season. Treat yourself to it. This book absolutely changed my life. As one of the quotations on the jacket said, "I now divide everything I read into the books I read before Ishmael, and those I read after. The book basically provides social commentary on human civilization from the perspective of a gorilla. I can't give it justice though. Read about it more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishmael_(novel) It's gained a HUGE online following in the past few years. It's just over 12 bucks on Amazon. You won't regret buying it. http://www.amazon.com/Ishmael-Adventure ... 0553375407 /shameless plug
I read it in 9th grade, and I thought it was garbage. But maybe that's just because I associated it with people trying to be philosophical jack@$$es who end up not saying anything of substance. Meh, maybe I should give it another read...but I doubt I will.
