Not sure if you can see it, but an earthquake in Japan measuring in the 8's on the Richter Scale has caused a tsunami in the Sendai prefecture. Waves upon waves of destruction. They're filming it live, and showing it on tv. I haven't seen such a heavy mass of water and debris running a path of destruction inland. What's worse is you can see people in cars attempting to get away, but getting caught in the waves. Christchurch, China, Japan, all within a short period. What is happening?
Just saw this all over Facebook, biggest magnitude in over a century. No power, airports shutdown. I hope everyone there is safe, 2012 is coming! :/
This is crazy. I just woke up, turned on the news and saw it. I hate how the world is messed up atm Happy that I live in a pretty safe place though
Did they say which parts of New Zealand? Wow...after the Christchurch earthquake and now this. I hope it isn't affecting the north island so much, my friend is going to a wedding there.
It's such a tragic and watching the wave hit the beaches on tv was a crazy sight. Here's another one of the giant whirpool that has been created: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A ... ml&h=2a1b4
That is a massive whirlpool. It may look calm, but I do wonder what's going on beneath the surface. Those boatmen are brave. Do you think it's all a coincidence that these natural disasters are happening in such a short time? I think I read an article about the moon being closest to the earth than it has been in at least a decade or so, and every time it occurs that year is full of natural disasters. I don't know how it affects tectonic plate movement, but who knows. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Japan+ ... story.html Also, what the.
That's a dire thing to say! What sorts of series of disasters do you think will be the cause of that? Elaborate.
Watch the 2012 movie and found out. I think the ozone layer dying out or Plate moving. I don't remember that much about the movie.
Ozone layer is not dying. As a matter of fact, it has became more dense in the last years. Not all that is said by environmentalists is true, people. Apart from that, for mayan astronomers 2012 is the end of an era, not the end of the world.
back on topic. I just saw the damage... especially to think it is in a region where they try to "prepare" for such an earthquake, the damage is quite extensive. hope they recover fast!
The recent political and nature events have actually shifted my views on the whole 2012 thing. I don't think that there's going to be a planet or UFOs passing planet Earth, but I'm starting to belive that events will culminate into something that we are having trouble comprehending and that maybe, 2012 is the year we make drastic changes in our global community in order to withstand the pressure that is put on us from the harm we have caused our delicate eco system.
It will be interesting to see what will come with the rest of the year. I saw a map and countries like NZ and Japan are directly on the edges of the 'Ring of Fire' so that particular area is devestating. I can't help but feel by the time we do act, it'll be too late. I think I'll be dead at that stage, but still.
