I'm preface this by saying that I'm a freaking fiend for musicals. Being a 13 year old girl, and just watching those people dance around on stage, it just gets my heart racing! The guys are sooooooo cute! I could srsly watch them all day. I want to asl them and then chat with them on AOL.

Okay no but for realzies, I'm a fiend for musicals. I've pretty much seen every notable one, which is a lot to say for a straight teenaged guy. I've been in a couple of them, I don't really want to get into that though.

And I'd just like to say that I freaking love Jesus Christ Superstar.

I hate religion of all kinds. I dont worship Jebus or anyone else. Not even Obama, even though most people treat him like a prophet.

Buuuuuuttttt.... Jesus Christ Superstar is amazing. The story itself is, well... everyone pretty much knows it. "Guy dies on cross", the headline read. But the music. Wow. Wow wow wow wowwwww. I love singing. My voice isnt spectacular, but it isn't terrible either. I've come to a decision.

Before I die, I'm going to be in Jesus Christ Superstar. It's going to be my life's goal. Other than being rich and powerful and successful (all of which are givens, for an ambitious intellectual like me), that's the only thing I really want to do.

    K.

I dont really know what else to say.

OH WAIT YES I DO THATS A LIE.

This is going to be part of my blag. I'm going to link to all of them in my signature, for your reading pleasure. Hooray!

ITT (In this thread): Discuss musicals. If you like them, if you loathe them. But not "I dun give a crap" because that, sir or madam, makes you boring. I was consid.. oh wait thats a topic for another blag.

    Peace!

I've never seen it mainly because of my aversion to religion.

I be a fully fledged fairy and the only musicals I've seen are Chicago and Rent xD

I believe the only musical I've seen in person is mamamia, but I enjoyed that.
And I don't get it, first you said you were a 13 year old girl, then a straight teenaged guy :S

I went to watch the film (movie) when I was 16 but it started and stopped :arf: The manager had to come out and tell everyone they had delivered the wrong size film for the projector :yup: Got a refund though

The best musical I saw on stage would have to be Rocky Horror Show :yup:

So I just re-listened to the Wicked soundtrack. I don't really remember much of the actual play, I remember the thing where she goes up high during "defying gravity", which is like, the one scene that its known for.

So anyways, after sitting here at 2 AM listening to the soundtrack, I've come to the realization that Wicked's music rocks almost as much as JCS. Wicked is like, click-flickey though. Its all drama between two girls pretty much. Whereas JCS is all action and stuff. Though in general, Wicked has the hot girl factor. Though I've seen Judas in JCS played by a girl. They played it as if there was a sexual relationship between Jesus and Judas. Interesting take. Not one of my favourites. And actually, when my friend's school put on JCS, they had some very fine looking girls in the chorus.

I'm going to bed now, done managing to look as straight as I possibly can while discussing how I love musical theatre.

JCS was one of my favorite musicals when I was growing up. I used to watch that and RHPS over and over. Now I'm into pretty much any musical. A few I have on dvd: Evita, Rent, Chicago, Moulin Rouge, RHPS, JCS, and a few more I'm sure but I'm braindead at the moment.

OMG MICHAEL, YOU LIKE MUSICAL THEATRE!? Maybe we ARE soul mates after all oh jeez. So many Michaels, so little time.

Anywayyy, I'm not a huge fan of JCS you should be Jesus in Godspell instead! You know a rock opera that I totally think could be on Broadway? Broken Bride by Ludo. It'd need a lot of work...and it would only be 23 minutes long, but I love it so much.

I love all things Sondheim. Especially Into the Woods (I was the baker's wife, wooo), Sweeney Todd, and Sunday in the Park with George, which I'm auditioning for this summer if my apprenticeship plans fall through. I'm also in love with Ahrens & Flaherty's Once on this Island and Ragtime. Ooo Tim Rice and Elton John's Aida....the opera is amazing, too.

Ugh, I could go on forever.
