This link covers it pretty well. Although in my experience, you'll lose more defence points then you gain.

And yes, you can get a species colour change. Who knows, you might even get the rare:

so in theory buying the full lad map works out cheaper then buying a pb that you want

If you have money to blow, and have a specific colour in mind, then buy a Paint Brush. If you're ready for surprises, buy the Lab Map :D

If you're labbing to get a specific species+colour, you'll be labbing for a long time. If species+colour is all you care about then a pb or mp would be better.

I just bought mine for 860K. It takes a while to haggle and find someone willing to drop. Kind of annoying for a measly 60k.

It's a mutant moehog, one of the many perils of labbing. I used to have one, but thankfully it's a different shape now. And it's so rare because not so many people want a pet that looks like that.

I personally love the lab map, its the investment on Neo that keeps on giving, and taking and giving and taking lol. It's just a nice daily to do and could possibly be good for a pet seller I wouldn't know. If you want a nice bd pet that is not a lab rat though don't use the lab imo or use very very infrequently the levels it takes will drive you mental and even stats is almost impossible with all the defense stats it takes away
