In my opinion you can never buy legit neopoints. Its just not possible. As soon as neopoints are sold, you are breaking the rules and have therefore made those neopoints and all associated accounts illegit. What Im trying to say is: If illegit neopoints are not doomed to be frozen immediately wen TNT resumes work, they are as safe to trade as the neopoints gained through slaving games restocking and the stock market. This came to my mind in another topic viewtopic.php?f=21&t=19130 and I thought it would make an interesting thread.

Argue, refute, support, falsify, ponder, hypothesize.... GO!

5 Mil costing 50$ or 5Mil costing 33$. Easier choice.

Its not like you have red colored neopoints that are illegit and green colored neopoints that are legit =/
I say you can never trust your source when it comes to buying neopoints.

I think Adam is right. If I were to buy neopoints I would just buy unlegit b/c they're cheaper and legit ones just become unlegit as soon as the transaction is made. TNT is ultra paranoid anyway, and a massive amount of np suddenly appearing on an account has been proven to be more than enough evidence for an icing.

then u enjoy the added risk of being frozen for abing, selling np and transferring all in one :)

but its always up the buyer

    I agree with Adam.

When I used to buy NP, most of the time I bought "illegit" because it's cheaper. I didn't get frozen either way, legit, or not. I honestly don't think it makes a difference. It's the way you trade the NP, and how much you trade at a time. If you buy 20mil NP at once... it really doesn't matter if they're "legit".. you're probably getting a one way trip to Iceland courtesy of TNT. :)

Very true. Its all in the amt. The only real way to pass off 5m+ is thru an item which is how ive done it. (2 Gshields = 15m) and no ice

    Not really,
i see your side of the arguement BUT

    Person a
Makes 10mil through ABing, (Alerts TNT because of ABing)
    Sells the 10mil on
By the time TNT check, the 10mils gone, so they freeze the buyer as well.

    Person b
makes 10 mil legit (TNT are maybe not alerted)
    Sells the 10mil
    TNT never check.

In my view, id rather pay the extra.
Anyway its only a bit of differenc enow, legit = $8 and illegit is about 6.5

Depends on how it's illegit and how much the buyer trusts the seller. I'd still always pay the extra money for legit nps.

But wouldn't the sudden disappearance of 10 mil off one account and corresponding
reappearance of 10 mil on another account make TNT suspicious? Even if the NP are legit,
TNT can tell there is some sort of illegal transaction going on.

It's not as if the servers run constant checks, "User A has a million less neopoints than he did yesterday."

It's more flagged as, "User A has been seen giving large amounts to User B over the past ten hours." etc.

Atleast, that's my way of thinking.

So, yes, I agree. If you're selling, it's flagged. It's just a matter of how high that flag is raised up the pole.

    lol good flag metaphor

but seriously, how can TNT not pick up on in-game transfer of neopoints with the buying user giving no in-game return of any value?

Dunno, but I've bought up to 7mil at one time, pure NP for junk items, without anything at all being noticed. *shrug* Maybe luck of the draw.

Illegit nps can also come from FLP and CG.
If you buy from these, it will alert TNT faster than the owns that is earn legitly.
I do agree that legit nps turn illegit when it's transfer and this is what i always told to my buyers =/

In my oppinion you can make illegit neopoints and sell them quickly gain a few bucks and no difference. As long as you sell them well and fast it's safe.

Legit Nps tend to be harder to make and that makes them a bit safer from TNT's telescopes.

But by oppening this kind of discusion Adam changed the way we see the prices. After a while, prices will probably go up for legit and go down for illegit.

Either that or Mods wouldn't have to ask the seller if the neopoints are legit or not. ;)

Adam is a specific user on this forum. The TNT founder is busy with Twinskies.com, so... I don't think he much cares for the value of his inflated NPs.

How can they care the value of their NPS, it's illegal to sell for real money anyways...

Adam and Donna have moved on to Twinskies.com, a site game that they intend to turn into an MMO game. It's a neat concept, and I'm definetly interested in seeing how well it goes.

Anyway, that's what I was saying. No one cares about the value of NP, just the people that sell points. Having the cost of legit go up, people'll just lie and start selling more legit points. Lots more will be coming out. *shrug*
