Let's discuss height.

Hey guys, Will here.

Talking as Will; everybody's favourite eccentric, narcissistic, lovable guy. And I'm perplexed.

So I've been measuring myself a lot lately. Not my penis, my height. I've measured myself a lot, and each time I'm somewhere between 164cm and 171cm - which, for you Americans, is 5'5" to 5'7".

Almost every girlfriend I've had has been around the same height as me, or just shorter, and a bit taller wearing heels - obviously. And it's kind of hard to find girls like that - short, hot, with decent tits. Like, not every girl is, for example, Your Caitlin - looking good, with nice tits, at 5'3". Not that I condone softcore porn.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm saying here. It's not a matter of how much alcohol I can take - because I can take a LOT. It's almost a matter of respect. People see me, and I'm relatively, well, short. And this gives them almost this veil of security, in that they believe that, despite the fact that I have a very high percentage of muscle mass, I'm weak. Which is not at all true, and yet this is solidified in their head.

Now obviously, as the reasonable person I am, I don't simply knock someone's lights out because they feel more confident and crude when talking to someone shorter.. but it's quite difficult with girls. That being said, as the fantastic and charismatic conversationalist I am, I could charm the pants off a Buddhist monk. The issue is that, despite being this charismatic, I feel that first impressions are far more difficult because of my height. And this pisses me off going into a dorm situation next year, because I'm leaving my good friends in Melbourne to move interstate to go to university.

And the notion that I may make a poor first impression and ruin my chances of good friendship, parties and sex in Launceston - the fundamental values of university - is scary to me.

Am I right to feel this way? Or am I a moron? Because I can't have another dry streak. Those are FUCKING HORRIBLE.

With all of that said and done, any advice and statistics, as well as personal experience would be very helpful.

But seriously I have some friends who are around your size and it hasn't really been an issue for them. To me it all comes down to how you carry yourself and how you want people to perceive you. I've seen short dudes (like 5 flat) pick up some bomb looking females cuz they have that confidence and swagger that girls tend to look for (ladies if I'm wrong and it's not you I apologize I'm just speaking from experience). When you're out and about don't worry to much about yourself and concentrate on other people because statistics show (real statistics ) that about 80% of people out there are more concerned with their minor quirks that they tend to over look other peoples, especially if you walk around with confidence (not like a douche bag though -_-). Thus ends my 2 cents

half these broads don't even give a shit about your height unless they want you as a husband..
as for hot short girls with tits, your going to have to give some of that up, its rather hard to find a girl with EVERYTHING your looking for, take them as they come. (everyone has to slay a few dragons to get to the princess sometimes )

First off - how can you be between 164 and 171? oO that's quite a huge difference. lol.

Anyways, actually I'm more to shorter guys. Tall guys always scare me - nah, they don''t, but really. I don't like them all huge and tall I've been with one guy who was like 1.90 and one who is about 1.72. And I must say I really liked the shorter guy the most. I'm not that tall myself, I'm about 170. Of course, I would prefer someone at 1.80 or something, but still. I didn't mind at all, and the first impression was nothing - maybe because I'm more a personality girl - he had this rocking personality that I really loved. That being said, so did the tall guy. But he was just too tall in my opinion. I felt like a little girl besides him and it irrititated me - not that I love being the little girl that the guy has to take care of, but it was just too much.
And I wouldn't say that short guys really annoyed me like that, speaking of first impression. Only if they're around 1.60 - that's really something I wouldn't be able to work with.
But in general, height isn't really something I look for, unless it's extreme..

I was too embarrassed to get someone to actually measure me, so I tried DIY.. didn't work too well

 

mmm methinks your not too into asian girls lots of them fit into short (short is not an issue as they are almost all pretty short LOL) hot and if they have some meat on their bones they are not half bad.

But yeah I'm sorta like you I would like to be a bit taller but honestly it all comes out in the wash, personally I get more problems dealing with other stupid guys than girls. If you want to measure yourself just stand with your back to the wall and mark it with a pencil or something.

I've found that girls really dn't have that much of a hight problem (the smaller the 'cuter' they're consider as a rule of thumb.) But guys... Huh. I wouldn't feel too self conciouse 'cause it not how tall you are its the WAY you walk

Yeah. Anyway, the only size I've found to worry about is that the guy>girl. It's justa thing that works for me. Other then tat issue high means nada to me...

 

Where i live, height doesnt matter.
It's your personality and how you are as a person.
But, just suck it up i guess.

 

I'm 169 and I'm just fine with my height, that makes muscles gain easier.

 

i don't mind short guys at all considering i'm under 5 feet and my doctor said i'm finished growing LOL
i used to love being 4'11'' but now i hate it.. i wish i was like 5'8'' with long legs..tall girls always look so nice to me!

 

Being 5'11" has it's disadvantages as well,
such as when you go into a crowded place like a mosh pit: as everyone jumps up, the shorter people throw their arms around and tighten against your waist, slowly but surely dragging you down with them. To make matters worse you cant turn around to even see who this shorter person is, just that you can feel them holding onto you for dear life.

Generally as a guy, unless you are ridiculously short (< 5'5") height isn't much of an issue...but shorter guys always seem to think it is. There are few instances where a height difference would determine whether or not you end up hooking up with a chick.

 

in 6 foot even and its great the perfect height if you ask me. unless you play basketball then a couple more inches couldn't hurt.

 

You're definitely not a moron for feeling like this. I'm 6'3, but there are a few guys at my school who are 6'8+. Standing beside them, I lose a bit of confidence (because they are freaking giants). You are right to think that guys taller than you feel an instant sense of security because we do. Something about you short people is just comforting - and because of that, I don't think you should worry about your first impression with your roommates. You won't make them feel intimidated. Shorter guys might not be taken as a threat, but that doesn't mean we lose instant respect for anyone shorter. Don't worry about it though. These rules pretty much only apply to first impressions. Once that initial meet is over, they will get to know you, not your height (unless they are prejudiced to people of the shorter variety, but I don't think you'd want to be their friend anyway).

And unless your dates are decided by a dunking or who-can-reach-the-top-shelf competitions, I don't think you should worry. You may get a dry spell at first just because you'll be out of your comfort zone - you won't have your friends and you'll be in a new place - but you should be good once you get to know the area and when you become better friends with your roommates.

 

I'm about 5' 8" and i always feel "average" and sometimes short in certain places (like school and in a crowd where i notice the people who're taller than me). Which i dislike, my preferred height would be 5' 11" or 6 feet. More so because of the fact that i love playing basketball and growing a few more inches can never hurt.

But yes as others have said, its how you present yourself to the ladies is what really matters. Confidence is definitely what makes or breaks you in getting with her. Unless that girl specifically wants their man to be of certain height (A few girls i've met are like this).
