Let's talk about makeup (gender friendly!)

Okay guys, how do you feel about makeup on girls? Is it okay as long as she doesn't look like a completely different person when she takes it off or wouldn't rather she not wear it at all?

Girls, what's your relationship with makeup?

 

I agree with Junior. I don't wear a lot of makeup, just the basics, or a little more depending on the occasion. But it's not attractive to look like a birthday cake with so much makeup on your face that you can't even see YOU anymore. It's meant to enhance.. not cover up.

 

I generally prefer little-to-no makeup, however I understand that women like to get dolled up sometimes. I just think it rarely looks better than how they would look without it.

 

I only ever wear just mascara and a powder... I wouldn't even bother with the powder, but the glare off my face mucks up pictures :/ stupid oily skin! Oh, and for special occasions or something I'll wear lip gloss... but that's so rare, its not even worth mentioning.
Yup. I'm not even sure what to do with the rest of anything... lol?

And yeah, I think girls who wear way too much makup are icky. Also another random thing I don't like is bold, bright blue eyeliner. One girl at school wears it frequently and I really dislike it... it just looks bad.

 

No, def not better than sex lol. It's fun though...a form of self-expression like nail polish or a tattoo or something. I consider myself more of a makeup collector than a wearer. It's fun to look at, but applying it is a chore sometimes. I think makeup is awesome (regardless of how much or little girls choose to wear) as long as they are still comfortable with how they look without it...

 

I agree with Ice Nine. I've always been a supporter of the Natural is Beautiful slogan. I don't dislike makeup, but I don't see a real need for it. Beauty exists on its own, and doesn't need anything to improve it

 

What's a pimple? But in all seriousness, I was blessed with pretty good skin, so my breakouts were never that bad, nothing that a little concealer wouldn't hide. But that doesn't mean you have to cover your entire face ya know? Or if it is, then you have an excuse to wear a lot of makeup. lol

I agree.. make up on guys is just a no-no.

 

On a daily basis, I wear nothing on my face... I'm lucky to have a pretty nice skin. I do wear some simple make-up for special occasions, but not often, maybe once or twice a month...

My mom always told me. "I'd rather have everyone tell me how pretty I look when I do make myself up, than have everyone stare at me in shock if I fail to make up one day..." And I think it's true! :funky:

I was surprised by how difficult this question was for me to answer. I wear makeup almost everyday, though not a huge amount (eyes, cheeks, and clear lipgloss only). I am at the point where I find it almost difficult to leave the house without any makeup on. This is probably more because of self confidence issues more than anything else. My boyfriend prefers me without any makeup on, but as a teenager, and even now...I can't help that I like it (the colors are just so fun). But I also can't go without it anymore which I am realizing may be an issue.

...So I guess my relationship with makeup could be considered complicated. And I absolutely hate it when guys wear makeup, particularly eyeliner. I think it looks silly.

 

To me makeup is something that should worn a little, I don't want a girl that had it caked on them, but to cover up blemishes is fine, but the girls who look like a different person without it are just gross haha

 

I almost peed my pants reading this.. I have to agree.

Personally (as a girl) i wear some eyeliner on my top lids, nothing more.. I work as a Dog Groomer so there is water splashing and hair flying.. when i wear mascara it collects hair on my eyelashes, haha... and water typically makes my makeup rub off anyway, so i don't bother with the whole fondation 'spchiel.

 

Myself, I think most girls look better without it.
But then there are alot of girls who think they need it to make them look better, and in return makes them more confident.
And if thats the case, all the power to them.
I tell my gf all the time that she looks better without it, but i tell her shes beautiful with it on too, just to make her feel better, when like I said my personal opinion is she shouldnt wear it.

 

I think natural makeup is the best, like if its just covering up a little like concealer? then thats cool, just not girls caked in it!

 

I'd always tried to do my make-up as natural as possible, eye-liners don't suit me and I never use them XD

 

Like most of you, girls with little to no makeup look much better. Never really understood why other girls would tell their friends they looked "magnificent" when that girl had her face covered with an inch of makeup...unappealing with that much

 

All i have to say is the more make up you wear when your younger the more you are going to need when your older. I dont wear it, have no use for it and wont need it to cover up the mess when im 50 lol
