Yes or no? Do we really create our own destiny? Post what you think here! Oh and I say yes, I believe in the law of attraction. Which means that if you believe in something it will come to you. It's like having the universe as your very own catologue. Call me crazy but it's worked for me.
every single thing you do has potential to change your life. If you get up late you may miss your bus, the one that crashes. Or maybe you go by car instead and the car crashes. Every event can lead into a new chain of events , its like forks in the road.
Every choice we make has a different outcome to the one that we didnt make. Therefore it would seem that life is 'random' however, why do we choose the options that we do? I guess I am in two minds on the subject.

I mean there are people who have extremely healthy lifestyles etc and still get cancer. I think that's very sad.
I believe that theres quite a few paths in front of us, and the action that we take leads us down one of these paths, so there is mutliple outcomes but you only choose one.
But what about abuse and such? I mean no one chooses to be abused. I didn't think of that before. Tough.
Although we don't choose to be abused but it's the person doing the abusing whom made that choice sometime in their life. Life is complicated.
I believe every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I believe everything you do.. EVERY LITTLE THING, like brushing your teeth, eating a cookie, writing right handed ect. Changes the way your life will be. I Don't believe in what you said in your first post about if you believe in something It will come to you. I believe everything has to be worked for.
I couldn't agree more, I believe that life has its twists and turns and when you change something the outcome will vary. You can only live life day by day, one day you could be walking down the road and get hit by a bus.
wow on this topic. Life changing experience. In regards to the school shooting today: My life decisions could have possibly saved my life. Last year when my father moved to Virginia, he begged me to move with him. He said I can go to Virginia Tech. They have a great Vet Program. I can stay in the dorms and he will pay for the housing expenses. I chose to stay here in washington for my own reasons. Had I have gone, Might I had ended up dead today I am calling my father:
Wow... Well then you made the right decision, or you were destined to not go there. Either way... wow  It is an understatement to say you were 'lucky'.
omg this reminds me so much of this show i watched the other day... for those of you that live in the united states and have disney channel, they had a natrually sadie episode that was something like this. they show a girls day(like how it would be like) in two different ways. in the morning she has 2 shirts to choose from and they show what happens what happens with each shirt she chooses... it was pretty cool! EDIT: also punkeydew (or someone with a UN similar to that) what happened in vargina that may have been life threatning?
I used to think that, but if you believe you have to work for everything then by my thinking that is all you will get. All your life you WILL have to work for everything because that is your mentality. It's all about positive thinking and manifesting what you want.
I believe in fate very much. When I was in year nine at school (6 years ago now) I had the choice to go on a trip involving lots of outdoor sports such as river walking, climbing etc. I decided to go, paid my money signed up for all the activities etc, then a week before suddenly I didnt want to go anymore, I dont know why, I just didnt. I stayed in school during the trip, and on the second day everyone was away, two girls who had signed up to the same activties as me on the exact same day drowned in the river during the river walking. I counted myself very lucky on this occasion. Edit: People should watch the movie 'Sliding Doors'
So basically, you are saying that if I sit on my carpet now and dont move for 60 years, thinking that I am gonna get an icecream, I will get one??
Wow, so many stories  Being lucky is one thing but evading death is another. Heh people are making death angry.
Think of it as the movie 'Final Destination'. For outcome branches off another possible outcome and more branches. Depending which branch you choose, leads you to that possible outcome while having picked something else may have led you elsewhere. Either destined or fate....
Or The Butterfly Effect would be a prime example. I recommend that film to anyone that is interested in this thread 8) Its so cool
That example may be better than the one I suggested. That movie really nailed this threads topic and basically suggests the same thing.
