Lol. The recent World Cup gambling thing inspired me to start this thread Because Singapore is a really small countries, our Lottery is really limited.. There are basically 3 types of Legal Betting that can be under considered Lottery..But i'll only briefly explain on 2 of them 1.) 4D 4D, as the name implies, is a four-digit number game. * Think of 4-digit number – you can choose any number from 0000 to 9999. * Decide on the draw – there are three every week – on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. * 4D sales start a week before the draw and close at 6pm on draw day. You can choose to bet for single draw, two consecutive draws or three consecutive draws. * 23 winning combinations are announced during each draw across five categories: 1. 1st Prize 2. 2nd Prize 3. 3rd Prize 4. Starter 5. Consolation * Place your bet. The minimum cost is $1, inclusive of GST. * If you buy BIG bet, you win a prize if your 4-digit number appears in ANY of the above five categories. * If you buy SMALL bet, you win a prize if your 4-digit number appears only in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize categories. * For the same bet amount, the prize for SMALL bet is higher than BIG bet. Say if the 1st prize is 7006 and you bet on $1 Big & $1 Small, your winnings for Big will be $2000 and your winnings for Small will be $3000 ODDS OF WINNING : First 1 in 10,000 Second 1 in 10,000 Third 1 in 10,000 Starter 1 in 1,000 Consolation 1 in 1,000 Any Prize 1 in 435 2.) Toto - I believe that it comes from a chinese word meaning "More More"..lol # Think of 6 numbers from 1 to 45. # Decide on the draw – there are two every week – on Monday and Thursday. # Six winning numbers and one additional number are announced during each draw. # Place your bet. The minimum cost is $1, inclusive of GST. # Toto sales start a week before the draw and close at 6pm on draw day. You can choose to bet for a single draw, or two consecutive draws. # If your numbers match 4 or more winning numbers, you win a prize. Ok. There are actually a more complex way of playing this Toto which i will not mention as I am not entirely sure how it is played XD. This 2 are most popular form of legalized Lottery in Singapore how about you guys? what are the most popular form of Lottery in the country that you reside in?
I'm quite jealous. Any types of betting is illegal where I live. >_< (Doesn't mean people don't anyway) lol
Most gambling is illegal in the majority of the area where I live, but you can head on down to the Indian reservation if the urge ever hits. Lotteries are allowed, though.
actually..the purpose of my thread was to know what kinda Legalized gambling are there in your countries.. so..Kaurevir, what kinda Lotteries are there and how do they work? awww..seriously? where are you from again? i'll make should i nv migrate there XD..
Well, I won't list 'em all off, but a few are the standard ticket ones where there are a set ammount of tickets sold and one drawing for the grand prize, and then there are also number picks similar to Toto. Honestly I'm not entirely sure how it works, I've never bought lottery tickets. :/
My grandpa used to play the lottery at least once a week and sometimes I would go with him and help him pick numbers. Sometimes I buy my own tickets in his memory. Basically you pick 5 numbers and 1 mega number and every tuesday or something like that they draw winning numbers. I've never won, but the most g-pa ever won was like 75 dollars? He had stacks and stacks of old lottery tickets in his apartment too!
nice nice..a number lesser than the "Toto" that i mentioned ..higher odds of hitting the jacpot XD.. how much does it cost to buy a normal ticket? i meant the most simple one, maybe something like just picking 6 numbers..i am sorry but where are you from again? icic..where are you from again?
haha alright..the "Toto" over here costs like 50 cents for 7 numbers any other users who would like to share?
Gambling is illegal in my country, but it doesn't stop people from gambling I think the most popular gambling here is Toto. Even beggars play it x)
The big lottos in Canada are Super 7 and 649. Super 7 was a favourite among Canadians until it was bought by another company; now they sky rocketed the price from $2-$5...not good for casual players like me. But it gives 3 numbers. 649 only gives 1 number but is $2...that being said I stopped playing when Super 7 was bought out.
Lottery here is called "Mega-Sena", there are other, but this one is the most popular, you must choose 6 numbers, and If they are correct, you win, If no one wins, the prize accumulates. The biggest prize they gave away was over R$100 Million (something like 60-70 Million Dollar),
That the national USA lottery it's called Powerball/Mega Millions not all states but a big majority I'd say atleast 35.
Gambling isn't illegal here but its not very common so I like that about my country. But EVERYBODY plays the Lottery, especially when the jackpot goes up to about 25 million. O___O
Where are you from? And does that mean there aren't any casinos in your country or very few casinos? Alot of countries use gambling to promote revenue and tourism for example Las Vegas is huge for gambling but now it's know more so for food, shopping, and shows.
My country has many scratchcards and lottery drawings. They are legal if you are old enough. Also many casinos
Haha, topic starter said it. I'm from Singapore and our lottery are really limited. Now, we have CASINO.
