I agree with this 100%. The only problem for me is compatibility issues with some files and programs, but besides that my MacBook has blown every PC I've used out of the water.

well, mac is better (actually, way better than PC) but because the PC is more affordable and it's also more compatable with games and documents, ect... Mac is still better but the compatability is the key problem with the PC.

We use pcs here for work but usually @ home it's a Mac since they are so easy to use and all ages can use it and it's very verstaile.

I really like my Mac. Haven't had any problems with viruses or anything of that sort. I can pretty much download music freely without worrying about anything bad that could happen to my computer. But I agree with a lot of the other people who have posted, sometimes there's a big compatibility issue with Macs. Aannd, since I'm in school and we learn a lot about Excel/Access/PowerPoint/Word and stuff, if we learn how to use those programs on a mac, there's a slight difference when using a PC and it can make it really frustrating.

Mac's are equal with PC's atm I'd say. As Mac grows though they will definately overrun PC's easily. Basically in the future they will be much better but now still equal

I agree compatibility was my issue. But since I've always been a longtime PC user I've kept using it and it has been running better then ever :)

I personally think that as a computer, Macs are far superior. They have unique monitors that are amazing resolution and they look sleek. Furthermore, you can run Windows and a Mac, but you can't vise-versa.

I think hands-down Macs win. The real advantage of macs is that you can run boot camp or parallels, and anything that is on a pc can be run on it. Not to mention, you really can't beat the quality of their product. There's nothing like a Mac monitor. And, for now, not as many viruses/malware is made for Macs, so its a bit less of an issue.

As for the lack of compatibility, I think that will slowly change.

Right now, I personally say PC. But that's only because I love mine, and I cannot afford a mac, Which in being a student, is a big downfall. But I've heard tons of great things about them, so one day in the future that may change :)

    Definitely PC. definitely, definitely.

I feel as if Mac only has its perks because it doesn't get as many viruses :arf:

--- It depends on the product, if it supports mac systems then yes of course (I have a few).

    As for Mac VS Windows.
--- I use a macbook pro as my laptop, it stays cool and has a long battery life. However when I'm at home I use a windows computer for a few reasons. I built my own computer because its cheaper and when it comes to making a system that will run smoothly its far easier to make a Windows PC then a Mac PC. The other reasons include the fact that I can game on my windows computer and I can upgrade parts easier without having to worry about it being compatible with Mac. Not to mention its illegal to install Mac on a non Apple made product... total BS.

Yeah, I also find that they charge YOU 400$ so YOU can develop programs for there system. And that its illegal to use any of there code to developed things without paying for it >.<

I have a Mac and it's my baby! I'll never go back to pc's. I haven't had any trouble with viruses which is the main reason why I bought it. The graphics are vibrant also. The only downside is I'm limited as to what I can download.

I got an Intel Pc and a Mac. The Pc is for Surfing and Playing, the Mac is only for Working because its way safer then a normal Pc.

Windows Machines kill Mac computers hands down only if you buy the right parts. In most senarios its PICNIC ("Problem in chair not in computer")

Another problem is that to many vendors take advantage for dumb users and sell cheap parts and shit hardware, to make more profit.

Windows is more affected by more virues because of the large market share, why would you write a virus that is only going to scam .01% of the market, when you could target 91% (As of October 2009, Windows had approximately 91% of the market share)

I just cant wait untill Apple has a greater market share and virus writiers will start writing virues for OSX and then I would love to see how people react.

On my computer (which is windows) I dont run antivirus, has it been infected, no. Its been over 4years since I have had antivirus software installed. Again most of the time its PICNIC

And PC stands for Personal computer, a Mac is a personal computer. Its like saying, do you like car or BMW? ....

Definitions of PC on the Web:

    * personal computer: a small digital computer based on a microprocessor and designed to be used by one person at a time

your better off saying Windows Vs UNIX as OSX is based on UNIX

    /end rant cbf writing anymore

I had to buy a computer as a gift the other day and I was advised to buy a mac but I couldn't bring myself to do it. My windows laptop that is 5 years old has pretty much the same technology as the brand new $1200 macs. Tiny hard-drives, low + marginally upgradable ram, too few ports... it's ridiculous. I ended up getting a toshiba with 600gig hd, 6g ram, and a good processor + adequate ports for less than half the price. I can't believe apple is making money off of those computers

PC over Mac for me simply because im a poor college student who works at a retail job.

for basically 1000 bucks, i was able to get a 6core amd (each core around 2.4-2.6 gigz i think) with a 1.5tb harddrive 150-200 dollar graphics card, smooth running machine, 7.3 windows score gaming machine.

yes i know having a 6 core is useless cause ive never even had to use more then 4 cores at once but common, a computer that can hold that much without an external and run games that fast would cost like 1400$ in mac form right?
