For some reason the corners wouldnt round with gimp 0_o

My first one could you rate and constructive critism if any

 

It looks pretty good, though it confuses me a bit.

Courtesy of the glare, I'm not sure what the dark shadow in the back is...?

 

Try this.

Select all (the layer)

Right Click > Script-Fu > Selection > Round

Now, play around with the radius.

once you got the right one,

Invert and Clear/Delete

 

Try a different colour than Sapphire's. Try a purple one or a blue-greenish one.

Generally a pretty nive first avvie =] Good effects considering that you are using GIMP and not cs2/3

Cant understand what the shadow is but that criticisim has been posted already so woo lol

I think we'd all like to know what that shadow is in the bg? Unless it's just some random shadow...but you can't really tell if the glare is obscuring anything or not :/
