    hello!

i want to merge several recordings of myself playing the piano together, how am i able to do it? i'm aiming for something like this end product, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsUAxG6c3Ws

sound has to be synced, while switching video portions.

can you guys direct me / teach me how?

i'd be using my digital camera to film it down, not too concerned with the quality at the moment. just would like to figure how i'm able to do it.

    Adobe premiere.
That's all you need, from the capture to the compress output file.

I can't do a tutorial on how to do what you need cause it's too long but you'll find everything you need on the net. Only -, this is kinda a professional program, so it might be hard to understand sometime.

Sony vegas could do it, it has a 30 day trial. You can look up tutorial on how to do so, is been such a long time since i've used it. I think in vegas just drag them or something.. /shrug

    Hope it helps..? :p

Like Tharoux said, adobe premiere pro is good enough.

If you look at the image there, you can see that there are several video and audio tracks. With premiere pro, you can cut and paste videos on top of each other, or simply use the different video tracks if you want to place several videos at the same time.

As for audio, there are several audio tracks that you can use as well. Simply drag and drop the video file, and the audio will come attached. If you just wish to use the audio by itself, you can unlink the audio from the video.

It's not difficult to learn, the only difficult bit I'd imagine is to sync it all together and to edit it so it looks goood.
