Im going phone shopping next week or so, and Im hoping to find a very
reliable, durable, and practical phone. Also, something thats easy to text
with, holds lots of music and can take pictures. What are some options?

I own a palm so I'll go with this...
    http://www.palm.com/ca/products/smartph ... specs.html

    Palm Treo Pro

I really like this phone... Ok, it's big, but it fits perfectly in the hand. The smartphone is using windows mobile 6.1 witch means that you'll be able to found a shitload of apps and games on the internet for free. +You have alot of apps already on the phone (See the link). The phone have a full QWERTY keyboard so texting won't be an issue. There's an integrated GPS and WiFi so you'll be able to connect almost everywhere. You have around 300mb of free memory but can extend this using the microSDHC slot. So you'll have enough space for musics and videos. The phone does have a camera built-in but at 2mp, it's not that good. The phone cost quite alot but you can take a contract with your provider to reduce the price.

Around the same price, you can also get the HTC Touch HD, but I haven't tested it yet so I won't write anything about it.

Oh, and also, there's the IPhone but you have to take their crappy monthly plan witch cost a fortune so don't buy this one.

I find my LG Voyager is a great phone. It's very durable and has taken many falls and bumps and still works just as well as when I bought it. It's about the size of a normal clam shell with a qwerty keyboard. They buttons are nicely spaced so you don't mash buttons and hope you end up typing the correct thing. The front touch screen is amazing and very easy interface to learn and use. It has the option of up to an 8gb Mirco SD card and has a decent internal memory as well. It's music player is great and the camera takes amazing pictures. I'll post an example of a picture I've taken with it. Also it's rather practical. It's on the verge of pricey, but is still very affordable. It comes with all the other handy gadgets you'd expect of a higher end touch screen phone like GPS, Web Browser, Mobile IM, Mobile TV, you know the usual stuff. I'm on my second Voyager and would recommend the phone to anyone :D

I absolutely hate windows mobile. It's so awkward, but maybe it's just that I haven't tried it enough. If you're going for a smart phone, I suggest blackberry pearl/curve. I love the blackberry OS. It's all about personal preference though. You could love or hate either of the blackerry/windows mobile OS. Maybe... iPhone is for you. I suggest you just look around, play with demo phones in stores, read (unbiased) reviews. By unbiased, I mean don't go to crackberry.com for a blackberry review and don't go to apple for an iPhone review (apple counts as a cell phone site, right?).

Blackberry is starting to join the trend by hosting it's own App center (which is currently CRAZY overpriced), but you can download themes and such online for prices from way cheap to free. :p

I have a touch screen phone and I'm so aggravated with it. I miss a physical keyboard. But hell, some people love touch screens. I like them. I think you really have to LOVE touch screens to deal with one every day.

That does look like a neat phone, but isn't it UK only?

Mine's a pretty old one. Sony Ericcson W810i, but pretty damn reliable. I've dropped it plenty of times - sometimes I even drop it for fun and once I threw it really hard at a hard surface in anger. Works perfectly :)

I've been using the LG 8700 for the past 2 years. All things considered, it's holding up quite well.

I'm planning on getting a new phone soon. Other than reliability, is there any phone you guys would recommend (interms of design, talk quality, battery life, and features (mp3 capability, loud speakers, etc.)

It mostly all depends on your personal preference and what you'll actually be using to phone for as well as where you live. Sometimes, if you live in a dead zone, you may have to choose the lesser or two carriers.
