It has a pretty cool background effect, did you just paint around with a brush? Why are there a couple horizontal lines under the tongue though?

 

Pretty nice for a first! I remember this kind of effect when I was first starting out with PS too! It's not done with the brush tool but with some simple filter effects First you render clouds and then add noise, after that use palette knife filter and then after that select color range > high lights and fill in with any color on another layer

 

now try using the blur tool on the tongue to clear up that sort of pixely, blotchy look...

 

Maybe the blotchiness is because of the image quality when it was saved into jpeg/gif format? That happens to me too when I save my stuff at low quality.

 

it probably is...and that's how you get rid of it

That's some cool first work! Did you read a lot of tutorials? How many time did it took you to make?

I read a few. Didn't take a long time. The longest time spent was figuirng out the outline. Now to make a few imaes for my new program

Thanks so much! So far I only knew hybrid genesis so that link is pretty helpful =) and it has textures too!

 

Nice, just add some more stuff to it. Seems very simplistic to me for some reason.
