i was wondering if someone here could help me, actually its my sisters laptop,mine isnt here now, anyway i keep getting internet page not found, so i try different adresses, same thing. i refresh and its the same, so i disconnect the network and then reconnect it, my brother in law said it works for his, and it does, but it does it every 15 mins, my dads got the router in his office which is 2 floors up, i always thought it was the router, because it was farther away. but i not so sure anymore, my dads computer is right beside the router so it works like a dream. is that the reason why the laptop does this?
it could be a bunch of different things... like my laptop doesn't use a router... it's got a wireless network built right into it... what kind of laptop are you using??
What type of Router is this? Also, it shouldn't matter how far away your router is from the computer, if you have a good Router it should auto-pick up the signal. Go into your wireless connections tab and check to see that it says that your internet is connected, if it doesn't PM me and I will try to help you out. I have wireless at home, so I can probably help you best once I get home.
well this is my sisters, i dont know anything about computers, its a toshiba its got vista basic, i think it does have wireless but im not sure its connected to Linksys other connections say: belkin54g and NETGEAR, i dont know anything about this laptop as im getting my own in a few days. but she's even more clueless about computers than i am
well she forgot her password so we had to use the recovery disc, so now it just has linksys, what virius protection would you recommend? we already use adaware for spyware.
