Alright, so as a lot of you might know, I've been in the process of redoing my computer lately. My build is finally stable! I've got some more upgrades to put in, but the machine works. i did it all for under 400 Canadian.

    Processor: AMD Phenom X4 9750 @ 2.4 GHz
    [IMG]

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H
    [IMG]

    Power Supply: Corsair VX550W
    [IMG]

    Ram: 4gb (2x2gb) Kingston HyperX T1 1066MHz DDR2
    [IMG]

My Hard drive is right now a crappy old 200gb IDE drive whch I'm going to replace with a WD Caviar Black 1tb once they're below 100CAD.
I'm going to buy 9800GT at whatever the lowest price in September is.

OH and also... I cut a hole in my case and added two red cold cathodes. I'll be sure to take a picture of my setup, i've still got a ton of work to do on the case itself.

Haha zer0, I wish the rates were that great. I'd move to canadia permanently and be rich =D

Nice rig Hallandale. Did you buy your stuff on sale? I built a computer 5 or 6 years ago for about half the price of an equivalent computer from bargain hunting =]

Errrr. Stuff's cheaper in the states... haha. I could have bought the same rig for less than the exchange rate if I was living in the states. Newegg.COM has WAY more sales than Newegg.CA.

I'm a huge bargain hunter. Ask me for anything, I can find you the cheapest, and fast :)

Edit: Oh never mind, I get what you were getting at. Zer0's hyperbolizing. err, that's not a word. oh well.

I know hardcore gamers are going to come on and get their knickers in a knot that my rig can't run SLI/Crossfire, but honestly, I didn't want to buy an expensive motherboard. Within a year, DDR3 is going to completely take over anyways. It's super expensive now, but prices are falling.

Oh, haha, my "< 350 USD" was translated into "<350 USD" by phpBB :p
And no, I'm not hyperbolizing (as you say). That is freaky cheap. o_O

But you used AMD, so that's like -$50-75 right there. Then, you didn't buy an HD yet, so another -$70-100. And considering that parts get cheaper over time, I guess it adds up just fine. :p

Nah man, Windoze XP. 2.75 megs of ram is epic win for XP. I'll probs switch to windows 7 eventually. Skip right over vista like the hurdle that it is.

I went to my friend's house, he just bought an Antec Three Hundred, so he gave me his Thermaltake Tsunami. Going to use it while I'm finishing my pimp mod on my old grey case.

Nice. I just recently built a new tower myself:

    4gb (2 X 2gb) G.SKILL RAM
    2 X ASUS GeForce 9800GT vcard
    ASUS Formula II Rampage mobo
    750GB seagate HD

Needless to say it's quite a beast, although expensive :p
