Man you need to slow down with all these posts! That's the thing about neopets, it wouldn't be fun without competition. I'm sure there are many people like you out there having problems of their own. If you can't earn money while wizard, then try something else that suits you! Games are impossible to lose money unless you gamble, or try restocking main shops.

One of the things that adds to this problem with restocking legitimately is the fact that TNT have massively expanded their playerbase into numerous foreign regions and accomodated them with site versions in their own language. There are more players than ever now, but shops do not restock any more frequently, nor do they restock any more items than they do.

In short, TNT brought a lot more people to the table, but isn't serving any more food.

That, my friend, is the most fantastic analogy I've heard so far about how crap Viacom are.

    Perfectly summed up :)

It's so true. When I started play 8.5 years ago, RSing was soooo much easier. But now with over 47k people online at once it is damn near impossible to get anything worthwhile. People wonder why inflation has risen the way it has.. it's because they're flooding the market with nps from crap like NeoQuest and so many other games giving out 1k nps without much effort. Then they release the same amount of items per RS. Common sense states that if there are say 100 people and 10 of a certain desirable item they will be well for it; but make that 1,000 people with the same 10 items and the prices will skyrocket to absurdity. I mean the SuAP is selling for around 1.1 billion neopoints now. That's just insane.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

well, i started when there were only about 2 million players and restocking was still super easy. i still remember the magic shops filled with transmogs all day long.. well, money was harder to come by then but still the stocks were more than enough for everyone.

I completely agree. I had to work harder to get the neopoints to actually RS in magic. BUT RSing in Magic was at least possible. Now even with my wicked fast connection and computer and if I refresh right at the RS I'm lucky if I can even get to the haggle page. It's just ridiculous. The morphing potions still roll through, but good luck getting them :/

thats why you invest in items. not in NP.

as long as you invest in decent investment items (retired, limited edition, but in demand items) your NP will rise at the same rate.

but yes restocking is harder...TnT wants to make everything as fair as possible on their site which is why restocks are random, auctions do not use exact time anymore, etc.

there arent any good restockers these days, just lucky ones

That's been my biggest problem. Is guessing on what item to invest in. I've invested in some semi-rare retired items throughout the years that I had expected to inflate, but just haven't yet. It's all about what you invest in, and I guess I just don't invest in the right items XD

Eheh.... if you don't refresh often and focus on just a few shops, you're bound to miss everything that comes through. However, if you DO refresh often and focus on just a few shops, you will be frozen. It's a lose-lose situation.

I disagree with most of you.

Im legit, i have 2mb broadband, yet over the last 12 months i have legit restocked an fpot 7m profit , a Glowing Couldren, cost me 444k to restock it and sold it for 18m, and many more lesser items including mps.

Theres always ways to increase your chances, fine tuning firefox helped me out loads.

Well those are very nice grabs. I don't know, maybe I'm just not as good at it as I used to be.. I mean I used to be able to stock MPs out of Magic like nobodies business, but lately, like I said, I'm lucky if I can even get to the haggle screen. I guess it's part luck, part skill. Part luck that you are there and refresh at the right time and that you're able to see it and part skill to type it all it and click the image.

Really turning off Java helps? I would have never thought to turn that off. I have the adblock on and the F11 window and the {CTRL} zoom out. I will start trying with the Java off. Thank you for the tip :D

    Wow..... simply wow...

Java is simply Thee (not the, THEE) best thing you can do while restocking...

No pop up saying " do you want to buy this item.
    &
    Its alot faster and smoother.

The first thing that came to mind when I read that: The mass duping of 2004. Does anyone else remember that? People would have like 98 Thyora's Tears in their shops for 99k each, and it got to the point that everyone who even owned one had to put it in the TP with an explanation of how they obtained theirs (so many "omg if this is duped I didn't no sry don't freeze me plz!" ones...). People got insta-iced anyways.

And I remember this guy at my church (in college now), when I mentioned it to him, said that he and the forum he was a part of had done it, and "Oh bugger. TNT actually noticed this time."

Haha yea I remember when that happened. I didn't buy one because I thought it was fishy that such an expensive item would just be flooded like that. However, I later got iced for something I didn't even do. But that seems to be a common theme with TNT. Even for all the legit players they get punished and iced..

On the note of the SuAP a fun little page to go to/send people to is:
    http://www.neopets.com/pirates/smuggler ... anks=24698
I've had some people freak out completely over that page :D Plus it's 100% TNT legit so there's nothing wrong with it :D:D
