So I've been playing a site for a while now, and recently the site has been sold off twice. The first time the owner pretty much only used the site to scam its users out of money and what not, he really didn't do much work nor really cared about anything but the money, needless to say he wasn't a fan favorite. The most recent owner, although he updates the site and cares more about the future of the site then the money, is just as bad, the site in question has been up for 3 years now I think and in that time not much has changed since it's worked, except for bad coding which he is fixing it was all decent. Now the problem comes in is change, he is changing a lot of the stuff up and really it's only helping older players out rather then new ones, which I'm not sure I like too much. Ive notice myself not playing nearly as much as I used to nor giving an effort at all. SO do you think changes are for the better of any site or should a site stick with what works and keep the users happy? Rather then "fix unbalances" in the game that don't really exist.
Used to be good, I used to pimp the site out and get tons of referrals now, I would rather refer people to neopets
Neopets is really the best when it comes to virtual pets sites but lately, its just been too occupied with NeoCash.
Well what can you expect? These people devote all of their time to create these sites. There has to be a pay-off for them. It's not like they're sitting there doing it as a pasttime for fun. So I don't blame them for trying to get money out of it. Personally I've never played it but if it's not fun then you should just play something else. When they see users leaving they'll either wind up having to close down or eventually adjust the site and make it more fun. In general, as a consumer I'd say sites like these should cator to the happiness of the players; however, realistically I understand that sites need to evolve in order to survive and compete with similar websites. The changes are usually better if they're trying to expand and get more players/revenue.
That's the thing though, they're taking out content that produces revenue, which I can't seem to understand
If they are taking out content are try replacing it with new content? Maybe the content that was producing revnue was actually driving away customers such as ads and popups(moat companies make $ this way)
There are no ads really, no pop ups, and no they're not replacing it with new content as far as I know or can see, just continutely taking content out. also does anyone know what "static." does in front of an item image location? That's something new that they added it messed up my ad-blocker
I've never liked Ichumon that much :/ Neopets has always been my favorite. I enjoy playing legitly on my main and cheating on my side accounts...what more could I ask for?
Yeah they redid shops too so my old adblock doesn't work and there are way way too many items to try to reblock them all x_x
Can adblock be used with programs aswell? I've never really been a fan of it but if it speeds up buy times than maybe i can get some adblock going for attic or something
