i dont think it should be...i dont think that there are people who would be quite cut out to be in the army and wouldnt cope emotionally...plus what would we do without our tv and internet at our leisure. debate
Definitley not, I don't think it could ever happen it would contravene Artcile 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, right to privacy which includes right to autonomy and making your own decisions. National service could include front line battle where you would have to kill someone to preserve your own life. This would conflict with alot of peoples morals. I would rather be put in prison for the rest of my life than have someone elses blood on my hands. The army/navy ect are important for keeping the country protected, without them we would not be a free country today but it should be by choice rather than force!
? i'm in the army air corps, and the people who dont want to be in the army are the worst, they bring down everyone elses morale and theres just no point them being there. so if they brang national service all hell would break lose
I think national service should be used as an alternative punishment, rather than prison for some lesser crimes, it would instill respect and discipline into them , and maybe they could be excused from front line action.
No, this is just like conscription, pretty much the same. It's un-just and shouldn't ever be implemented again. Britan doesn't need anymore troops, they are fine as is. Conscription= Three thumbs down.
