I've got one and I love it. They're a bit more expensive plan-wise, and in general. If you've got one, what do you have and why do you like it or not? If you don't have one, do you want one and what's your opinion on them?
Love my palm pre. Couldn't live without it. I have to keep in touch with work 24/7 and this keeps me from having to bring a laptop with me where ever I go
I've been using a Palm Treo 700 WX (Windows mobile 5 edition) for 3 years now and I love it. Since the phone is quite old, it's not too powerfull but I installed ~30 games on it + I have a bunch of MP3 to listen when taking the bus. The main reason I took this phone was windows mobile. You can pretty much install anything on it and you can find every single game free of charge on some site. The phone can play divx/flv/mp4 too so I often download movies or music clip on it. I was also able to install an emulator for nes/gameboy games and the phone has a touch screen. Plan-wise, it's the same price as if I was owning a regular cellphone. I'm not paying for internet but I do have a wireless card. I'm might change it after the holiday for a HTC HD2. This phone is totally awesome.
love my iphone only problem is, it is a tad slow with txt messages ( but I have like tons of txts in my inbox) other then that, it does everything
That is clearly an understatement. It does not do everything. My Question Is, Does It Make Toast? I still need a friggin phone.. -.-
right now i currently have an AT&T tilt which after i got a different ROM on i love and when my contract ends in august again im gonna try and convince my parents to let me switch to T-mobile to get htc hd2 when it comes out in march and hopefully later for at&t since i dont wanna change cariers xD but i absolutely love smartphones theyre so amazing and windows mobile smart phones are geting really good with the whole finger frienfly thing and theyre starting to get alot more user friendly and you can find custom roms all over theinternet if you dont like the original rom thats loaded on them
Wow fail... its rather rare to find someone without a phone thesedays I'm totally in love with my Droid, but sometimes I wish I had more options for carriers in my area. Verizon is pretty much your only option if you want good coverage. Its interesting to see how many people on here have smartphones... I'm always comparing neofriends to my friends IRL. There is quite a difference... I don't think half of my classmates have smartphones.
I am not too sure if hiptops are considered smart phones, but they are terrible.... the only good thing about them is all the free data!
I've never heard of hiptops before I googled them 5 minutes ago. From what I read, they're not a phone at all, just a web browser? If thats true, then they're kinda half of a smartphone. They've still got the data capabilities, but lack several other important phone-ish features. For the sake of this discussion, we'll classify them as a smartphone-like device
I have a hiptop slide, if you'd like to google that one and yes, they are a phone XD I hate the design of mine, it is very big and bulky and not nearly as cool as the hiptop 3 because it flicks up instead of slides... I use my hiptop for msn, the web, unlimited sms and mms... it also has games, a music player and you can buy stuff off the big pond catalogue... this sounds really cool for the 30 a month cost but when you ring someone the bill gets massive - that's how they catch you out :O I think I need to have a look into what the definition of a smart phone is XD There is nothing smart about a hiptop though, the bluetooth is virtually non existant, and the server that it uses is not 3G, atleast, not in Australia... I forgot to mention it also handles your emails and your own device gets its own email address so you get alerted immediately if need be
That sounds like a smartphone to me even though it doesn't sound like that great of a device. I suppose its a good deal if you don't call many people... about how much is it a minute? (Australian Dollars? American Dollars?)
I am actually unaware the cost of calling per minutes, I just know not to do it excessively or at all. XD On my current bill there is an additional 7 dollars applied for dialling and using message bank... I used my phone to speak about twice this past month?
Oh that's unfun.... Still, that's a good deal, 37 as opposed to 40 (which is the monthly cost of my phone because I'm extra phone on the plan) but then again, I can also all people
allow me to rephrase that, it does everything you'll ever need to do on a phone .. and I think you mean an overstatement, not understatement
A good smartphone is as good as a mini-computer... what matters more is communication and entertainment on the move for me. Symbian phones probably gets the thumbs up since you get more flexibility in installing softwares. I remember I used to abuse my N70 like 4 years back by installing everything just for fun.
Smart phones are great for someone with a very busy schedule and who is always on the go, heck I have one myself, and honestly I'd be a total wreck without it.
