Can anyone tell me why there are two different ways of looking for darigan scorchio?

 

One is male, one is female?

Maybe it's similar to the whole royal-boy, royal-girl scenario?

 

I think he might be seeing converted and unconverted Darigan Scorchios.

Before the Flash system was added to allow people to dress up their pets, they all looked quite different, and for the most part, better. When they added the new system they gave people the option of converting their pets to the new look, or leaving them. Unfortunately, you don't get the choice when newly painting a pet, so you'll be stuck with the crappy looking one if you choose to paint your Scorchio.
