Hey everyone, I posted at least a week ago about about the dangers of direct-linking neopets images (suggestions-f72/stop-posting-neopets-hosted-images-t21306.html). Well, I have created a solution that will use my website to request the images, which will keep you 100% anonymous. Here is how it works:

    Before: http://images.neopets.com/items/toy_ixi_plushblue.gif
    After: http://images.neo-scene.com/?x=/items/t ... shblue.gif

    Before: http://pets.neopets.com/cp/57d6bll8/2/2.png
    After: http://pets.neo-scene.com/?x=/cp/57d6bll8/2/2.png

Ricky or Expon could easily include this in a filter, but until then, make sure you link using that method instead of direct linking!

    that would work

what does your site do, though? just request the images for us? doesn't that leave YOU vulnerable (or however you want to put it)?

There are a bunch of sites that request images, that are legit i mean. Sites that run item databases and their own version of the rainbow pool and stuff.

I doubt it would leave him vulnerable.

It would not leave me vulnerable at all. This just uses my server to request the image instead of you requesting the image, which also sends your referer (neofriends.net) to Neopets. This is 100% effective.

This is a great idea, especially since I direct link images all the time.
