Will it get to a point where they make some sort of major changes,or even shut down?Discuss any logical, potential, humorous or icey implications,solutions,etc.... Thought I would come up with something interesting considering how boring these forums have been lolz At this time there use to be 40-50k online users years ago..right now there is 17k..
Well something is happening. People are just growing up who are like 5 years old accounts. They may be like 25 or 30 and have families of there own. Players Online: 14,216
I don't think they'll shut it down. Not while it's still profitable. I'd question how they got the number 40-50k. Considering that most of us had more than one shell, if they're counting each account as a user, then it's misleading. As for neopets, many users are growing out of it.
Active within an hour or so I believe. And unique users. It used to be 40-50k right after the sloth plot/ac cup was going on like 3 years ago. I saw it peak at 25k a couple days ago. lol. But you have to remember those numbers are consistent. only 20k might be on at that moment. But they still get around a million active players per day. Just 24/7 instead of all at the same time lol
They don't advertise and they don't really do anything new to draw in a new crowd. All they do is mess with all the old stuff to make it look new, and devalue it, so this is to be expected. And yes, eventually it will shut down if they don't change their approach (or lack of one). Probably sooner than we'd like to imagine.
At least if they shut down I'd really leave instead of saying I will then keep going back to it XD I need to sell my main.. That way nothing ties me to it except cheat accounts which I could care less about.
They are trying to keep the current players happy, but even if the current players aren't, generations of new ones arrive. If each wave keeps the total players up, then the site will still be maintained.
The statistics say this is not happening though. There are new people coming to the site, but not enough - not as many as there would be if they advertised. I don't get how a company as big as Viacom can lose sight of the fact that they need to spend money to make money.
