Why have you asked this particular question? I don't see huge similarities between the two, aside from the pets and battling. The two systems are completely different. I do however, play both. I'm not a huge pokemon player (never had the patience nor cared enough to EV train), and as for neopets, once my main gets frozen I'm out for good.
Im with commy on this one, I dont see the similarites. also you poll is rigged I play neopets but not pokemon so where is the option for that  or for the people who play just pokemon but not neopets.
I used to paly both when I was a kid... Now left pokemon and concentrated on Neo, as it can bring me an extra income
I have all the console games, I battle competitively. Chances are that if you never experienced pokemon as a child, you didn't have a childhood.
You, my friend, couldn't be more right. My entire childhood was about Pokemon. My room, my clothes, my games. <3
Yea pretty much. I could not imagine my life without pokemon.. the countless hours put into it. Playing the games, then breeding, training etc for competitive play. Learning all the intricacies of the metagame, then learning all the new stuff about the metagame for the new generation, memorizing common movesets for top tier pokemon, memorizing the speed tiers, memorizing if certain moves will OHKO or 2HKO certain pokemon with certain stats... Holy goddamn I spent more time learning to battle than on everything else combined probably
I probably spent more time on Pokemon than I did on school! Too bad I can't make a career out of that. :/
Pokemon has got to be one of the more funner of the two, but I no longer play nintendo so I haven't played in a long time
