Well, we can all see the risks involved in installing Neo-tech right into a cheater's computer. They say that there is no spyware or monitoring software in the program, but they also claim to have never been hacked. It's obvious that the toolbar has a connection to Neo, else they'd have no way to let the toolbar know when to flash. My question is just; is that connection only one-way? Has anyone decided to just decompile the toolbar, and if they have... would you know if they've posted their results? And: If they haven't, is there anyone here willing to?
I have that installed, yet have never thought twice about that... You're right though. I'd also be interested to know what exactly is hiding in my browser. :x
once you installed their toolbar you risk your account if you got use any hack on it because they can spy it through backdoor so you won't know it!
Ive had it installed onto my computer, in firefox. It slows down your refreshing time if you legit rs. I've used Adblock for like 8 months and i havent been caught, even with the toolbar
good question, i don't have it downloaded but i'm curious as to what it's made up of in case i ever do want it
The toolbar is browser based. So as long as your browser isn't running, the toolbar can't run either. Plus, I highly doubt that the toolbar will go searching your entire computer for certain files it claims as cheating software, since that would be very CPU intensive and thus very obvious. Another thing, although we all dislike TNT, they don't freeze out of suspicion. If you think about it, no matter how angry you are at TNT, they are actually pretty good at catching cheaters fairly. Very few legit Neopians get frozen incorrectly. And even those that do usually get their accounts back. They won't freeze you just because you see some potential cheating software. They will freeze you however if they catch you USING it.
