Neo's back! - New Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

After an announced downtime (which TNT didn't say how long it'd last), Neo is back up, with new Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. When you log into your account for the first time after the downtime, you should see Lawyerbot appear, asking you to agree with these before proceeding.

Haha if you don't check it, you can't proceed, so just check it. However, I think we need to be aware of what's new - it may influence us in some way (especially illegit people; Neo's new system may make it easier to catch cheaters).

I'm not sure what exactly has changed, because I didn't read through the previous Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, but some things on this one have cause my eye:

Posting Your Stuff on the Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds. If you write something that catches our eye anywhere on the Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds, we might want to use it. By posting material on the Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds or through the Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds' functionality (and getting your parent's permission to do so if you are under the age of 18), you and your parents are telling us it's ok to repeat what you say. It's even ok to put it in an advertisement. It means we can use it in any way we want, anywhere, until the end of time. And wouldn't it be cool if we used something YOU said until the end of time?

However, if you choose to stop playing on the Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds, we reserve the right to permanently erase your account and everything associated with your account including items or privileges that may have been licensed through the payment of money to us or our licensing partners. Currently, our policy is to terminate any account that has not been active for eighteen months.

^ I wonder what they define 'inactive' as? Also, I believe this makes purging accounts more often = higher chance of us creating new accounts with good names or creating pets with good names?

Things to Note:

1) Apparently some people have been entering the right password to their accounts, but they get an error message saying it's the wrong one. Just hit 'back' and retype it again; it should work. [Source: TheDailyNeopets]

2) Some people have logged in to find their accounts frozen, but apparently this might be a glitch (TNT posted about this). TNT says to wait while they fix it, lol. [Source: SunnyNeo]

 

Well...That's very annoying. lol..

Edit: Every single one of my accounts I have abed in the AAA on is iced for cheating.

Now, let's just hope they make some mistakes while unfreezing account so I can get my main back XD

 

Well that's strange - all of my accounts are safe - at least for the moment.
Even the one that I AB on is still OK

I am not sure what changes were made aside from their policy change - but everything looks to be the same :/

I still can't log into my main. Its been like that for almost 15 hours. XD
Oh well, they will sort the problems out. I'm glad they added the 18 month rule to their policy when it comes to account support. Now they can't keep saying "this account has been inactive for too long" lol.

 

I laughed at #7 too and debated whether or not I really wanted to keep entering the beauty contest. I guess just steer clear of mentioning anything other than something that pertains to neopets on the boards or petpages and what not.. if you care about intellectual property that is lol
