hey guys, just looking for a new phone and my contract is up and wasn't sure what to get.

    my options are: htc legend
    htc desire
    blackberry bold 9700

bear in mind that my school is quite bbm orientated. also, considering sneak previews are available of the bold 9780, how long do you think it will be before that is released (in the uk)?

    thanks guys

    very much appreciated

I voted wait.. Purely because none of those phones are familiar to me. However I've heard good things about the HTC's and their free apps.. I forget what they use... Sounds better than apple's app system though.

There was a nice HTC with a one piece aluminum backing which I would of liked.. but I don't know the model o_O Looks heavy duty... which I sort of need as I have a habit of dropping my phone...

I'm in love with both Android and the Blackberry OS. It's hard to say, but right now, I'm liking Android more. Plus HTC makes beautiful phones

Android !! I remembered what the app download thingy was :p Yay'! ;)

and thanks for the info re HTC Legend :D

Of note though, HTC are SMALL COMPUTERS not phones. Therefore, they run like computers. You physically have to disconnect from the internet if you've used it otherwise you will apparently be continuously charged. (my bro had one.. with an unexplained massive bill... this is the reason he got from his phone company)

    If money ain't an issue:
    HTC HD2
as good as the IPhone + bigger screen, running windows mobile 6.5 so you can install EVERYTHING you want.
You can customise it too... Gotta love M$ for giving such easy software to tamper with.

I'm a bit biased but I love my blackberry. The blackberry is great with emails if you're using it often and it looks good too. Of course the internet/brower isn't as great as the iphone but still, I love my blackberry. I choose the Bold :)

Disagree, WiMo is pretty much a dead system. 7 looks decent, but given that the UI looks like something made in MSPaint, it won't have a wide appeal.

It's really up to whether you want a physical keyboard phone.

Unfortunately, the only android phones with the keyboard are the motorola Droid/Milestone and Cliq/Dext.

The Desire is a sick phone, and then Legend is pretty damn solid too.

I use android, I love being able to literally download an .apk (android package. Similar to .exe for windows) file off rap1dshare or meg4upload and install it, without paying a cent. Of course, that causes the developer community to die a bit, so there's a tradeoff.

My phone is the HTC Dream (Tmobile G1). It's basically the only HTC android phone that's come with a physical keyboard, which i absolutely adore.

If the G1 had 2.2, I'd poo myself. I love the G1, flat out.

    thanks everyone

i was so torn between the bold and the desire but in the end i went for the bold (partly because the provider i wanted said they were discontinuing them in favour of the nexus, which i definitely didn't want)

i am so happy with my blackberry; i absolutely love it and definitely made the right decision
