I know a lot of people hate Tarla's giveaways, and I admit I'd be one of them if I had any legit Neopoints.

It is really strange how she can give away an item with a decent value and then the next minute it sells for 1k on the Shop Wiz.

I think instead of destorying the value of one item, NP should release fewer. They could still bring down the prices on some really inflated items without completely devaluing them.

I don't think they care about the deflation of items as much as the money they're making from the toolbar. If Tarla gives away rare items, obviously more and more people will want the toolbar. I think that's all it comes down to.

    Oh I beg to differ.

Spend some time on the Neoboards and you'll see those with the strongest opinion hate Tarla's Giveaways.

That's just those who go on the neoboards to complain because they think they're all l337 restockers who are being ruined by her giveaways. Go to the help chat and look at how many "ZOMG lyke wh3re iz tarla?!?!" threads there are. The majority of people like tarla's giveaways. And if they don't like them, they still take advantage by sniping and hoarding the items in hopes they'll reinflate.

See, I don't mind when it's the pointless items such as furniture or whatever.

but when she released the Blue SS and the One Hundred Dubloon Coin, that's when she's getting kind of ridiculous because those are well known itesm that are in demand for the most part.

TNT has reached a point where the neopets economy is so random, and unorganized that it is becoming impossible to keep up.

And the reasoning: TNT has gotten greedy. They want our every thought to be Neopets and they want us to spend our every cent on it. So they make every single thing possible for the people on the site.

Those rare item codes, tarla, premium, among a lot more all contribute to this.

I liked the old rare item codes where you could only get a prize from amoung special items that were only available from that code only. Some items were better and rarer than others but you were going to get something special, regardless.

When these first came out at Limited Too I was pretty young, and buying the cheaper items like the Stickers was fun.

Yes, it made TNT pretty evil for forcing you to either buy a plushie or something with the code or save up the NP for the rare items, but it was better than having the current ones which can give you anything from an MSP or a Pile of Dung. This means you've got to keep buying those stupid cards if you want any chance of getting something decent.

I think Tarla is similar. I just installed the Toolbar and have only gotten a Book and a Darigan Peophin Plushie, but I'd die if it were something that was supposed to be valueble and then it turned out to be only worth like 10k.

Its like that year they released Codestones as advent items and every got like twenty on their side accounts. And the price didn't recover for... Well, it was over a year if I remember.

Yes, that was the one. Lu Codestones were at around 2k I think while all the others were 4-5k.

it was 2.5-3k while the others were 4k lol

Does anybody know why Bri is so low now and why Main and Eo got so expensive? It was during my hiatus from Neopets, and I've been curious every since I started again

I'm not sure, doesn't it have something to do with what ones are used to train SRT and what ones go to DEF?

it's all random for STR and DEF, I've paid bri, main and Eo for both DEF and STR and even HP at one point or another.

Tarla killed many good items...100 dubs coin, fire petpet pb, pirate petpet pb...making it less profit to snipe them in auction.
    I hate that thing..

definitely kills items, I'm afraid to invest my NP in any items now for fear that while I have it in my SDB, Tarla will give it out and I'll lose the NP I spent on such items.

I still would much rather see them simply release a few more of the ultra rares into the market, and bring those down to a more sensible insane value.

Does anyone know how many of these items Tarla releases? I've never gotten the rare ones, just the left overs. But I click really fast. So its either that there are millions of people with the toolbar, or she's only releasing a few hundred.

    Of each item? Wow.

I also need to add all the false alerts are really irritating. That light flases for no reason very often.

I just found this topic and I must say, I am torn between liking Tarla and despising her. Her give-a-ways are getting a little ridiculous yes but, I wouldn't have gotten half of what I have now without her. I mean, the Icy Snowflakes helped me out a bit. I wasn't around for the dubloons and to be frank, I don't have the toolbar installed - I just happened to get lucky a few times when someone posted a link on the boards.

But yeah, ya'll make some excellent posts about TNT and their Greed Factor. And I remember the old warehouse with the rare item codes, where you got items that were exclusive to the RIC (rare item codes) instead of items you had a chance at getting by random on the site.

Personally, I'd like to see TNT release some more RIC Items. I'm tired of purchasing their products and getting crap in return. -sigh-

And with Tarla... she's kind of a love her or hate her personality.
I mean, some items are nice - like those which give avatars - and others are kind of meaningless. I mean, what exactly was the point of giving out the hundred dubloon coin? Not that I'd be complaining if I'da gotten one. But seriously, what GOOD did it do for people who actually play the game? Anyone?

tnt should make it so that tarla gives out unique prizes, or almost unique anyway, if every single person has the same rare item its not rare anymore issit!!
