It's possible. It must be a pretty convincing double for the prez to make an announcement.

I wouldn't put anything past the people that run the world to make up lies to make them look better/make people feel safer.

There is a lot in this world we don't know about...

I don't see how killing him would help anything though. Maybe just make the hatred worse.

Uhh Freja, he orchestrated the murders of thousands of people...I don't think the hatred could get any worse. After like, 10 years of a pointless war, at least he's finally dead. Because what do you really do with someone so terrible? Put him in jail and waste tax payer money on him? Hell no. Kill, do a dna test to be sure it's really him, then have a parade.

I see they've already put out warnings of retaliation attacks?

    Surprise surprise.

    Fucking terrorists.

Erhm, yeah, that's exactly what you do. You don't put him in one of those good prisons with cable and everything, you give him a life sentence and let him work in prison, hence paying for his own visit. The only valid reason for killing another person is in self defense, though I'm guessing this is the case since he was killed during battle. Death sentences only hinder the evolution of the human race.

Okay, putting him in a terrible jail would mean guards and a ridiculously high security detail. These people have salaries, you know. And who pays for their salaries? Tax payers? Yeah. This isn't an argument for capital punishment. I don't support it, but this is one person I can whole-heartedly say deserved to die. idcwys

I agree 100% with Ang on this one. I for one don't want to pay to keep the #1 terrorist alive just so he can "pay off his debt" rotting in prison. And by keeping him alive we'd give him the opportunity to continue to orchestrate terrorist attacks from prison (its 100% possible). It was a kill mission, so whether he engaged in the firefight or not, he probably would've been killed anyway. I'm just worried about future retaliation attacks on the US now that we got him.

The problem with seriously putting him in jail besides taxpayers money is that it would threaten other Americans (or those who look like Americans). Al-Qaeda (however the fuck you spell that) would be given even more incentive to kidnap them. But the good thing about capturing him is he can suffer at Guantanamo Bay and we can get information out of him...leading to more captures. If he were captured, I would like videos of him being tortured like hell on YouTube.

I don't know, guys. It seems to me that announcing his dead as Obama did or seeing in CNN thousands of people celebrating in the streets won't contribute to peace at all. And I don't think that killing him or anybody is the answer to end this conflict.

Apart from that, I think that nobody has the right to decide who should die, even if the other guy is a terrorist, a murderer or a serial killer. I can't stand the issue of the "money of contributors" as a valid excuse not to keep a criminal in jail. The "money of contributors" is the same money that it's used to create bombs, guns, etc. And there's no cent worst spent than in weapons.

My country had two big terrorist attacks in the past, and I think that stricking back is not the answer. But that's just my point of view. If you think that today we have a better and a safer world, I think you're completely wrong.

Lol, that's not what I meant. I meant killing Al Qaeda's leader won't stop them. It will probably only make them hate the West more. And yeah, make Americans happy. But I never really got the eye for an eye thing, and I see why people hate him. But you have to keep in mind that he did not DO THIS SINGLE MAN. There has been sooo many people who excecuted this plan of his. So killing him does not kill the enemy.

That was kinda my point =p

Al-Qaeda mentioned of a nuclear bomb they had planted in Europe that they would detonate if Osama was killed or captured.
Good point. I can imagine that Al-Qaeda would hold and execute hostages until Osama is free.
If he's dead, retribution from Al-Qaeda for their fallen leader.
If he's alive but held in prison, action by Al-Qaeda to free their leader.
Seems like a lose-lose situation that they've put all of us in. Guess we'll see if anything happens.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think anyone thinks this is a solution to the problem. And in a way killing him does kill the enemy. Do you know how much time and money has been invested in finding this man? Our "war on terror" was basically a hunt for Bin Laden with some Bush agendas tacked onto it. No one believes this is the end of anything other than this douchebag's reign of terror and idiotic videos. Of course there will be another crazy to take his place, and they're probably plotting some ridic retaliation plan, but I think keeping him alive would've been as pointless as you think killing him was.

I understand your pacifist views, but at what point do you stop letting these psychos kill your people and stand up for yourself? Or is it just a free-for-all until everyone's dead? These zealots, killing innocent people to try to scare people into believing what they believe, are not going to stop just because you turn the other cheek.

I don't want to make an endless discussion about this. There are as many different points of view as people in the world, and that's great cause that's what enhances our chances of being better each day.
I only what to point out that this is not a matter of religion; that's very innocent and romantic by this time. Don't let the press trick you. The only thing that really matters now is money, and hence, global leadership. Is it a coincidence that the enemies of freedom are countries with high production of fossil fuels? ;)
But as I said before, I respect everyone's ideas. And who knows? Maybe I'm the one who's wrong...

Well like you said, they want global leadership, but it is still also about religion. If they ever were given the chance to rule the world, but had to adhere to western views, they wouldn't. So it is both.
