I sprained my ankle on Wednesday playing soccer for my command... While sprinting towards the ball, I heard, not felt but heard, a 'pop pop pop' and instantly felt my ankle give out from under me. I played on it for a few more minutes before the pain became unbearable.

I spent the last few minutes of the game on the sideline and literally watched as my foot was becoming more and more swollen. After the game, I went to the E.R. to get it looked at. They took x-rays and determined it was a sprain, gave me some crutches, a wrap, and told me to see my regular doctor Friday morning.

My doctor said that not only did I sprain it, but sprained it "really, really good". He said I'll be off my foot for a minimum of 10 days and wants to look at it again Tuesday to see if the swelling has gone down, which it hasn't, and he'll determine what to do then. So for now, I've got to ice it, take my pain medication, and spend my Memorial Day weekend on crutches. And to make matters worse, he said that I will absolutely have to go through physical therapy once I'm able to stand on my foot again. He also said that they might take and MRI to determine if I will need surgery or not.

    Ef my life.

Want to know the worst bit? We lost the game 7-6 in extra time, playing short two people (I was hurt, and my friend had his forehead split open and was bleeding).

    :(

Edit: So, please, forgive me for not being around lately.

I come from a land down under! (Maaaate!)
Sorry but no.. I don't forgive you.. Crutches is no excuse to be away from the computer :p If anything, MORE of a reason.

Nah but seriously that sucks... At least it wasn't the achilies tendon > if you snap one of those things you'd be off ALOT longer.. I did one of them playing football (Proper, Australian Rules Football.. not that stuff you hate being called Soccer :p) back in school.. Horrible...

Aaanyway, I did find this part slightly amusing:

A true sportsman > won't leave the ground until the game is over, even though you would of been in pain!!

Aaanyway, fingers crossed you don't need surgery!! That would put you out of action for a fair bit longer. And Physio would suck too... All the best Boba!!

Ouch. Recovery could take months! Hope you get better.

Just take it easy, lest it become a permanent injury!
