its no surprise to me really.. when i was playing baseball for my local university we travelled to many small towns in the us and canada. there are even smaller towns yet. :yup:
Wow people can't seriously live there unless they are completely self sufficient is that a mountain or a volcano they are living on? xD Not only is it a tiny town on its own on a diddy island but the diddy island is also in the middle on nowhere. I bet a cruise ship just crashed there and the people just set up their own little village it's very lost ^^
Thank you for being the only person so far to appreciate how absolutely retarded this town is. ITS NOT THAT ITS SMALL PEOPLE, ITS THAT ITS ON A RANDOM ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN!!!
How do people even manage to survive? Is there just a constant shipment of supplies sent out there or something? I should look it up on Wikipedia or something >_>
Wow this just shows how many people fail at life what did we do before we discovered america? we survived fine. people can farm their own food adapt to ways etc just wow xD and tis a volcano fyi
-erupts- -people run away- -drown- aside from the fact that it would be horrible, that's pretty funny
well its better than living in a so called dormant volcano .. which i think ppl do in utah my brother used to live out there in that area ...
you notice how big all the houses are though? HELLLOOOO PEOPLE aristocrat vacation spot i'd bet my life on it
Damn, I think i love living here for just a couple of months... if there aren't any volcanos Convenience & safety are still my first priorities
Yeah, well: California is sitting on a giant fault line Las Vegas is in the middle of a desert New Orleans was built below sea level, right next to the sea If you think about it, there are lotsa unsafe places
Probably NOT an aristocrat vacation spot. Notice the lack of any runways. ie No planes other than those which take off over sea. which can't go very far. Perhaps not even to south america, the closest continent. That's the part that scares me. "We need to get him to a hospital!" "Sorry mon! The next pontoon plane leaves Tuesday mon!"
Found it ^^ The island of Tristan da Cunha and its surrounding archipelago are located in the southern Atlantic ocean, 2816 km from the nearest continent, making it the most remote island in the world! Tristan da Cunha is a dependency of the British overseas territory Saint Helena, and also a live volcanic island. The main settlement, “Edinburgh of the Seven Seas“1, had to be temporarily abandoned in 1961 due the volcano erupting. As Edinburgh of the Seven Seas is 2,400 km from the main settlement on Saint Helena, it chalks up an additional record of the “most remote permanent settlement in the worldâ€. The other islands in the archipelago include Gough Island, which has a temporary population of 6 South Africans who work at the small weather station… over 1500 miles from the nearest inhabited area (St. Helena) and more than 2000 miles from the nearest city Cape Town. The only way to get to the island is by boarding a whaling ship, or some ships that call on the island to keep the island well stocked. The population of this island is a little less than 300 and people on this island have only 7 surnames!! Despite having such a small population they have a Cafeteria, a Pub, two Churches, 4-hole Golf Course, Football Ground, Post Office, schooling for children up to 15 years, all the Depts have internet connections, all houses have telephone lines … and the mysterious sounding Inaccessible Island. Officially uninhabited (presumably for obvious reasons), Inaccessible Island also appears to be inaccessible to high-resolution photography satellites (unlike the rest of the archipelago).
permanent settlement???!!!?!!?!? those people are dumb i can't survive if i'm anywhere farther than half an hour away from a mall and i'm a guy lol
Only less than 300 people living there? OMG, this is obviously lack of genetic diversity, which eventually leads to increasing genetic disorders
