BEFORE you start flaming me abt putting creative writing in the general chat a) the writing corner is dead. seriously, poke it with a stick. nothing would happen. b) I wanted to write on general, this way i could get critique and i wrote each segment of it.. making it a living breathing thing rather than a stagnant pile of words in my Word Document. c) well im just cool, and can do what i want :tehe: (that is until the mods turn up and start bustin me nuts) my first stab at action/fantasy/romance. im pretty uncomfortable abt writing abt that 'gooey' love stuff since im quite an atypical male. if any of my mates read this, i am DEAD. be warned, im not that good at character depth and development and im quite rusty.. part one will be short seeing as its nearly 3am and i have a job interview tomorrow. +spelling mistakes included ================================================================== Leo sprinted down the hall, full flight sending a trail of chaos behind him. Books were knocked out of hands, people were sent toppling from the reckless pace he held through the crowded locker halls of the alien school. As he zipped past, the only thing that caught him was the occasional curse or object sent flying at him in anger. However, he shrugged this off, the pulsating alarm within the depths of his stomach drove him faster through the concrete maze of school. At his flanks, two steadfast allies shadowed his every move as he proceeded further and further up. Each of the men at his back were solid friends, mates - and today comrades. His eyes registered the surrogate road ahead at lightning pace, quickly deciphering a route through the human obstacles before his legs quickly sped their way through. Leo stopped for a second, at an intersection of halls. He could sense his two allies behind him also come to a halt, their ragged breathing apparent. "Stop smokin' and maybe you could haul your fatasses up these stairs." "Shut the hell up Lee' and find the damn way up. I heard they brought poles" Quietly smirking to himself, Leo knew the two guys wouldn't let a couple of shoddy lungs get in the way of a violent bloodfest and again picked up his blistering pace. Usually, when running to a fight Leo was hardly ever afraid, in fact he was usually the first one to start one. His sized helped, he wasn't large but wasn't small; most people he knew were just itchin' to crack a smartass smaller than them. Their grins usually got wiped off by Leo's foot soon enough. However, today he could feel a dark wolf running with him today, drooling and slavering for its chance to sink its hungry teeth into Leo's heart. Fear was shrouded around him like a cloak. What made today different, was that this was not some brawl on the street. He was running into an ambush. After another flight of stairs, he could see the last pair of doors hanging off its hinges. It let through sunlight that partially blinded Leo and his gang. Without hesitating, all three of them burst through the doors onto the school's rooftop. The scene that greeted him encased his insides in ice and threatened to shatter. Brett, a usual member of their trio was lying face down on the concrete. From this distance from the entrance of the roof to Brett's body, Leo could make out the glittering glint of broken glass. After the sight registered, he noticed the fine details, like the blood splatter across the ground, the streaks of blood still dropping profusely from Brett's head. After this, the background slowly came to his vision. Eight guys surrounded Brett. One with a broken bottle in hand, Leo made a mental note to smash his face in, another three in the distance apparently apathetic. However, that left five men with sadistic looking grins on their faces. Their use of one of Leo's gang to lure him here had worked, and now they wanted to get to work. Glancing on either side of him, Leo briefly brushed both shoulders; signalling to his comrades-in-arms. Without turning, "Boys the numbers aren't looking our way. If you want to turn back, I won't blame you" Not one muscle behind him moved. "I see. Well boys, keep your fist up, body height low and head on your shoulders." Spitting to the floor and flexing his arms, Leo ignited within himself. He pulled the trigger to his adrenalin, the image of his fallen soldier on the concrete fueling the intense inferno of emotion. Though, the fire and motivation was not all of hate, a saddened blanket over his heart from the sight of his injured friend added steel for his resolve. This slowly flowed into his shoulders, arms and then fists where they clenched and solidified into weapons. Leo was ready, the three of them rushed with guards up and fists flaring at the group of five to defend their fallen brother. ===================== ah shit. no matter how i look at this, its going to be novel sized. urgh thats it, i claim this as just practice!
